Just tried my custard that I mixed up a fortnight ago,and I want to say a huge thank you to tobywonkanobi if you'reon here tonight for the mix suggestions for the crazy creamy custard coz its sublime with ddl and bc at 3% each,cheers mate!

I've not got as far as custards yet, keeping it simple for my first trials but I've been keeping an eye on different mixes and methods. bc though? Bavarian Cream?

Yes. Custards aren't complex. More outlay though, having to get a few new concentrates in. The thing that makes them harder is holding out for three weeks before trying. etc

+1 for custards, I am steeping my second batch of banana custard, been a week so not far from ready (was good after a week, awesome by the end of the second)

Just trying out rhubarb & custard as well (test batch)

I think it's the steeping that's holding me back from trying it. Even the straight fruits and mixed fruits I've been doing improve in time but usually good in a day or two. I think I'm going to have a go at adding a creaminess to my fruits before I tackle the custards still though.

A mate has done a good few batches of different custards and the ones I've tried have all been great. Speaking to him today and he was telling me about another batch he's got steeping away that's moved away from DDL. Tell the truth I think what I'm doing is sitting back and letting him do all the hard work then I'll jump in when he nails it

I have only done a few mixes but have looked at many recipe threads all over the place to see what results people say.

I had some good responses to the subtlety of my banana custard.

LOL It does get a bit foggy in there at times.

Watch those damned average speed camera's though Everyone thinks it's great they've let us do 50 but we all know they've robbed us of 6mph. While we're at it what is it with bloody 56 anyway we work in mph not kph, bloody 90k, wind em all up to 60 I say get the country doing a mile a minute. Coppers never batted an eye at it so it was only the damned vans we had to watch out for, oh and dodgy over takers when we got stuck at 40

If I'm sitting in a layby and notice the smell of banana custard go wafting by I'll know it you then.

Only get up that way once in a blue moon these days, did do the Perth to dunblane under the cameras last week, pain in the arse but if it stops the tesco guys crawling up there it will help.

Most nights I'm on extended double deckers running trunks to Burton (palletforce).
