I'm a big fan of UD, and the Zeph in particular so I was a bit excited when I seen the V2 Zephyrus. This was mainly due to the 'twist top' fill method. I liked the V1 top fill, but it could be bloody fiddly when my hands where bein shitty so the new method looked like it would address that, plus, the black V2 looked fuckin gorgeous.
Just after I ordered the V2, I seen a couple of images that raised some concerns. I liked the Zeph as they had a wider chimney that most other tanks at the time, and they had a straight, unrestricted flow out though the drip tip. Due to design of the new fill method the V2 has a narrower, longer chimney, and a restriction at the drip tip. To me, this didn't look good for the V2 matching the V1.
The V2 arrived yesterday morning. First impressions where, it's fuckin gorgeous, the chimney IS narrower/longer and I really didn't like the restriction/juice trough at the drip tip. I set it up the same as my main use V1 (.5ohm coil, AF wide open & Coffee haze juice @35w) to see how it compared. Yesterday's vapeing went between its better, to they've made it worse all day.
Today, things where different, and what was different was clear. The vape is more 'concentrated'. The new chimney and restriction at the drip tip creates a venturi like you get in a carb, this seems to make the vapour more dense than than from the V1. Now that I've got used to this, (for me) It does seem better. UD have also dropped the heat sink, another thing I wasn't sure about. They've increased the length by 5mm, this makes a fair different too. In use you notice the lack of the heat sinks square edge against your lips. I'm hoping the twist top will loosen slightly, as it's a bit stiff, specially when the tank is warm. Another slight change can be found with the RBA deck, the deck is now identical to the Goblin mini build deck, so now has a bit more room to work with.
Overall, I do think the changes have improved the Zephyrus, it maybe a small amount, but a at least it's not just change for the sake of change.
