Zeus x 1 v 0 Drop RDA

Currently using the ZEUS X RTA and the DROP RDA. I cannot seem to get my DROP to even come close to the flavour I get out of the Zeus X. Don’t get me wrong the flavour on the Zeus is amazing but I would’ve thought that the DROP would’ve been as good as if not better than the RTA. The drop is my first RDA and I am really disappointed with it. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Generally an RTA needs tighter wick through the coil than an RDA.
Could you be wicking the RDA too tight?

I might be !! I am wicking them both the same firebolt cotton with 3.0mm diameter alien coils. The wick is really tight though

Looser wick and single coil is how I got the best out of the Drop though its not the best RDA, the Drop Solo was much better.

Firebolt cotton is great for it but will need thinning out, 3mm is more like 3.5mm I find.

The Drop got some good reviews, I am disappointed in it tbh. I tried a single coil build in it and got hardly any flavour. I have ordered the Hellvape MD RTA to see how MTL vaping works for me because I quite enjoy the Smok Nord but don’t really like pod systems. The Drop has put me off RDAs if I’m honest. Too much hassle for no real benefit over RTAs as far as I can see. Just my opinion on my experience though.

I had this problem. Turned out I was setting the coils too high. When you fit the coils, put them right down on the posts. Then use a coiling tool to pull them up, to avoid shorts, and in towards the centre. I still feel only the two Asgard's have better flavour. I ain't got a Zeus x but my Reberth RTA runs all three close, on flavour.

thats interesting, I've not experienced that. Can I ask what builds your coils are using, please.
I'd normally suggest under wicking. But you've already said you've been wicking tight.

Dual
