【GIVEAWAY】Win VOOPOO Father’s Day Mysterious Gift Pack for Your Dad

My old man's a cunt and we've never been close. Up until losing Mum in Feb, you'd more likely find us wishing to trade punches.

Now, we only really have one another for support on a day to day and we get on well.

Not an entry, just a reminder to others that life's short. Don't regret time.

My daddy taught me how to drive a stick shift, and i got my personality from him. So we bashed heads a lot when I was growin up, but we always made up. And when I was scared he was gonna kill me , and afraid to tell him pregnant at 15 , I was so wrong. He just opened his arms for a hug. I taught him how to cook over the phone after momma passed away, and the day he had his stroke I was on the phone with him, and I called him help.
I am so blessed to of had a Daddy like him. He might not of known what he was doin at first, but hey kids don't come with instruction manuals, but he figured it out.

My father is a difficult and complicated man, brilliant, headstrong, narcissistic, dominant. Someone with the potential to be at the top of the world in any profession he'd choose to follow, and ended up not sticking with something long enough to get there, dragged down by his character flaws and alienating his surroundings time and time again. He's pulled through for me at a couple of key points in my life that helped get me where I am now which evens out the hundreds of times he's let me down, showed me a lot of what not to do with my children, my wife, jobs, and money.

My dad sailed the 7 seas before I was born. He didn't like modern life, he always thought he was born too late as he would have liked to have been a sailor in the days tea clippers like the Cutty Sark. My dad was a good looking guy, on the ships he sailed on ('Beaver' boats, 'Castle' boats, etc.) there were the inevitable poofters (sorry for un-PC Aussie slang), he told me that one day, when the ship was in the tropics and all the guys are just wearing shorts, he was lying on his bunk reading when the cook looked in and said "John, you look absolutely divine!" My dad wasn't your typical sailor, didn't drink to excess, no tattoos, smarter than the average sailor too no doubt.

1. This is kinda funny cause I'm sure my dad we'll never see this, but... My dad is one of the most short-tempered & easy to anger people I've ever met. He gets so angry at little things & just goes off, which can be really irritating & frankly, uncomfortable to be around.

But he's also among the kindest, most generous, smartest, & genuine people I've ever known. He gets super angry so quickly, but it's always about the little things. If you ever have a big problem in life, though, he's there for you, cool-headed & ready to help you work through it.

I had a serious addiction to opioids for many years (3 years of sobriety next week!), & he was there for me through it all, well after anyone in their right mind had reason to give up on me. I am alive to sit & write this, in no small part because of him. I could keep going, but I feel like I'm beginning a eulogy for him, & I'm not ready to lose him yet. Or ever.

Love you Dad! :)
