I made my first mistake

I usually have all my bottles setup on the left and move them to the right when they've been used. I didn't do this on my last tester (a choc/orange) and now I've got a 100% PG juice. I've also tried 100% VG juices (on purpose this time) and I think you need a bit of a mix happening.

I found the 100VG juice to be quite flat and not the smooth, creamy liquid I was shooting for. The 100PG has a kick and seems quite 'wet' for some reason.

My standard ratio has been somewhere around 60V/40P and it's a nice balance. I'll be experimenting with 80/20 although this is hard to do without VGnic but I'll give 80%PG a whirl and see how that fares.

I was surprised that 100%PG was quite vapable though

High PG is good for flavour and throat hit but lacks sweetness and clouds.

There's nothing wrong with high pg juices if you're not sensitive to it in some way.

If I take my mixes much above 55pg/45vg I get really oily skin and spotty back [emoji53] I'm not entirely sure why it happens but it's definitely the high pg that does it.

I only have pg nicotine at the moment so it's sometimes impossible to stay at my preferred ratio when testing new mixes.. Which reminds me.. I need to order some vg nicotine with my next order.

Yep, I agree, that's exactly what I've been doing too. With the nic and flavourings both being PG I just adjust the mix percentage in the calculator till it says 1 drop PG and call it good

I always used to prefer higher PG juices, 70/30's and 80/20's, but, more to do with better performing atties and a change in my vapour preferences than anything else, I now make only 60VG/40PG mixes.
I just like the thicker,smoother vapour.
Just like liquids, water, milk, smoothies and milk shakes, I'm at the "smoothie" stage with my vapour likes.

This is a great thread folks! I've recently been mixing my own and trying to find the right sweet spot. I am not bothered about clouds and prefer less vapour so I've been mixing 70/30 PG/VG, and latest batch that's steeping and not tried yet is 80/20 PG/VG..... However, I have a few atties, as you do, and plucked one out the cupboard last night with Twelve Monkeys Tropika in it and realised what I was missing! That stuff is the opposite to what I am doing at 90/10 VG/PG and it's fantastic! However, I prefer keeping clouds away when in the house so I'm now confused as which way to go....
My DIY mixes have been Strawberry Milkshake and the latest yet to taste is Blackcurrant. Maybe I will try a higher VG next time ie 70/30 VG/PG and see if it's sweeter. I am confused now but it's a great hobby and loving this a lot more than stinky fags!
Oh, my favourite all day vape is RY4/DK4 from vaporized.com ... I can't get enough of that stuff and it's starting to feel a lot like my safety blanket lol

Oh an extra question - I have been using and mixing 12mg nic - Is it noticeable dropping down to 6mg? Need to try getting off the nic for good....
