What's new

Really pleased I got over my snobbery and tried out some pods !

I kinda like the Cthulu AIO, and I kinda don't.

Pros: Very ergonomic, nice feel in the hand, (even having to arch ya fingers on the back so's not to cover the vent), good flavour with the Nautilus attachment, (can't be arsed with builds anymore), pocket friendly, good range of bright colours, (I'm always losing my gunmetal mods...may be it's my failing eyesight...)

Cons: It eats batteries, (even Fogstar's super duper 18650's), and it drinks juice quicker than I consume single malts. If ya don't put it together correctly, it leaks worse than Thames Water.

Conclusion: Jury's still out, and I keep reverting back to my Steam Crave Hadron Mini and Jac Vapour Series B DNA 75W. Have been quite impressed with recent additions; a Kroma 217, and a Coolfire Z80.
Some interesting cons.
I ran a couple of Cthulhu alongside two other Boro mods - all using Molicel P26’s and 6 or7 boro /sliding glass tanks in rotationwith the Nautilus Coil Adapter and 1 ohm mesh coils (all under10 w).
Can’t say that I found the Cthulhu chip any more or less power hungry that the other chips (which included DNA60)
Juice usage will be down to your coil/wattage and consumption - nowt to do with the mod. And I didn’t suffer any leakage other than the time I left a boro sitting outside the mod for probably a couple of weeks. All the mods suffered condensation to some degree, but that seems to be pretty much par for the course with boro/aio devices.

I have various vapes. One of which is a Vaporesso Armour GS I use with 5ml dtl tanks and 0.3Ω GTX coils.

The flavour, vapour production and simplicity of it beats everything else I've tried. It's never leaked, airlocked and the vapour production starts immediately on firing it. The only possible downsides to it are;

- 18650 only
- No temperature control option
- Needs premade coils or GTX RBAs (which are fairly tiny, they could make these better if they used a postless design)

It'd be awesome if they released some rebuildable tanks for it. They may also be able to enable temperature control with a firmware update, not sure.

The only things to be mindful of when using the Armour or GTX coils is that above 0.3Ω, the coils switch from female (wrapping around the drip tip connection) to male (fitting inside it) and so have a higher draw resistance. And, even though the mtl and dtl tanks look very similar at first glance, the dtl tanks have significantly higher airflow. So if you want dtl, you want the dtl tanks and 0.3Ω or lower coils.

But yeah... the GTX coils are absolutely great. I've ran some of them for weeks, refilling the tank over and over and they keep delivering full on flavour and vapour.

I've got the wotofo SMRT PNP coil its actually pretty good, makes it easier to rebuild a mesh coil, and lets face it the reason these pods and subtanks are good today is they use mesh coils over round wire.

the voopoo ones are postless and should fit. i use them in the luxe pods.
I might give one or a wotofo rba a go but one potential issue is the newer GTX coils have two silicone seals at the bottom rather than the one found on voopoo rbas, wotofo rebuildables and vaporessos own original gtx coil. I've had a problem with the newer GTX coils not fitting adaptors for the originals before. It looks like the luxe uses the newer gtx coils as well though so maybe it'll be okay.

The Vaporesso Armour GS has top airflow channels and the adjustment is at the top. I suspect leaving the extra seal out at the bottom may make it more airy as air will be able to get in underneath as well but I usually run it pretty open anyway.

interesting, because the older gtx rba doesn’t fit the luxe. you need the newer ones with two o rings at the bottom, which you can’t find anymore. but the single o ring voopoo fits fine and i’ve not had any problems. got two of them on the go.

i’m not so sure, the rba with round wire in it is much better than the 0.8 or 1.2 stock coils in the vaporesso luxe imo.

could be it’s more of a thing for higher wattage types though.

I think I'll have to get one to give it a go now. The voopoo postless "deck" also looks like it works better coil fitment wise than vaporesso's.

If I had the tools available it'd be a fun challenge to see how many universal push in rbas I could produce and how good they could be made performance wise. It'd be neat if there was a mesh one that used some kind of postless deck instead of having to bend the legs through the rubber washer at the base.

i hate postless decks tbh and for a long time preferred the vaporesso one but recently been using the voopoo more. it is actually pretty good. beats the stock coils imo.
