If you're careful, a dental pick, an old credit card and a hair blow dryer allows you to heat a corner and lift it enough to wedge a credit card underneath as you soften up the glue. I've done this with the full abalone panel on mine.

Oh no, that is such a shame, if I knew that I would not have used the cut off the corner method. Luckily it is only a very small section that is cut so is hardly noticeable.
Mine has carbon fibre panels, I have never seen abalone could you post a picture of yours?

I love abalone, my main guitar a ESP LTD MH1000 has abalone binding and abalone fret markers.
