Only posting this as I am really happy to be using rebuildables again.

I cleaned up my Kylin mini RTA with some water and washing up liquid and gave the insides a good scrub with a toothbrush. Rinsed it off and let it dry.

The only wire I had left was standard Kanthal, 24 gauge. I used a 2.5MM bit to do 5 and a half wraps, even bending the kanthal around was a challenge trying to keep all parts of the coil the same size and touching for a contact coil.

I fired the coil on my RX2/3 in dual 18650 mode to glow it, it only needed a couple of strums to be heating from the inside.

Then I remembered I needed wick- a quick look through my ottoman and I found some Koh Gen Do cotton pads that were in a sealed bag. Wicking was a bit harder than I remember, especially fluffing the ends of the cotton to go in the juice channels, but I tried my best.

And the result was success! No dry hits even when chain vaping, and the coil only needs 30W for a warm vape. It turned out around 0.4 Ohms which is fine for me.

I have only used power mode, but have Arctic fox already installed on the mod so I can connect to my macbook to download custom TC files for similar to DNA performance. Obviously I will need some different wire for TC, I do have some 26G titanium I could use.

I just thought I would post as I am really happy I have managed to build a coil after so long, now its time to get building for my other 90-100 RTA's and RDA's. These will need a good cleanup first though as where they have been sitting they have became grimy with juice, or the brass ones have tarnished so will need some brasso on them to make them sparkle again.

Try brassos polish cloths. Found them online a while back less mess and a banging shine every time and no mess. Or my other go to. Duraglit. Still from brasso. It's the liquid polish presoaked on some sort sort of cotton or fibre based material.

Always used that to shine the buttons and cap badge in my no2s. No mess polish always a win in my books lmao

It's strange you mention brasso, as last night I cleaned up my Broadside mech and Lost vape RDA with the original brasso stuff, you know what comes in a tin and you tear it off? I got the mod nice and shiny but within about 10 minutes it was dull again, not sure if I didn't clean it enough or that is just its patina now.
I also remember duragilt from my childhood- you are bringing back memories of my nan using it on brass ornaments lol!

I put a single coil, 5 Wrap 24 gauge kanthal build in the mech at 0.4, and it is working well. For some reason I have to press the fire button really hard and at the side of the button for it to fire so need to adjust the firing mechanism.

What are your no2's? I haven't been around for a few years so am unsure what that is

Military uniform.

Sorry for sounding a bit stupid, but do you mean there is a mod called no2 by a brand named military uniform, or you was in the military and used it to shine your buttons and badges?
That's perfectly fine. I'm a veteran and we used it to polish the brass button on our uniforms. No2s are the khaki coloured posh looking suits we wear.

I only clean the threads, and polish the bottom of the atties 510 pin with a pencil eraser rubber when needed.

Ooo genius. That may resolve an issue I've been having recently with one of my mods. Huge volt drop on one of my mechs. Couldn't figure why. Off to the shelf.

Now. Where did I leave my pencil. 🤔
