21700 Charger

However, I am finding some references to it not working with all 21700's, so it may be hit and miss.

The D4 wont accept 21700s, mine doesn't, well, it does now, because I chopped it about, not recommended tbh.

Even if they do fit, charging 4 21700s at the same time will take forever, 750mah on 2 bats, 350mah on 4 bats.

Edit: you might squeeze them in, but it'll fuck your wraps up quick and probably bust the pull down tab mechanism.

There's a lot of love on here for the xtar chargers, I have the X4, mainly because it runs from a mains lead and not subjected to the limitations of a Micro USB lead. I'm normally charging 2 x 21700's at a time for which it's a great charger.

As for Nitecore, I can't comment, never had one.

I have used Xtar for many years and never had an issue, cannot comment on Nitecore.

So, I've found an " XTAR X4" Charger in stock at another supplier...

Shall I go for that?

Thanks

I have a Nightcore i2 and an Xtar VC2 (both 2 bay chargers that will take 21700s - both charge at a fixed 500mah with 2 batteries, the Nightcore will charge at 1 Amp with one battery - the Xtar won't).

The Nightcore has a mains lead and the Xtar is USB.

Both have been reliable, however because the Nightcore has a built in transformer to convert AC power from the outlet to 5V DC the charger and batteries can get noticeably warm compared to the Xtar where the batteries stay at room temperature. The temperature of the batteries from the Nightcore charger isn't enough to cause concern at 500mah, but at 1 Amp charge the battery can get very warm.

Both chargers are pretty good and I'd recommend them if you don't mind a slow charging rate - but the Xtar is the better charger

If you take a closer look you will see that most of the chargers that do not charge all 21700s really means that they do not charge protected 21700s, but do charge standard, non-protected ones. Those are fraction longer due to small circuitry built intonthe battery. This is ok since vape mods only can only use non-protected anyway. Just take that into consideration when reading the specs. Cheers.

andipandi has one and says they don't fit, and I am happy to trust his use of one. My Xtar VC4S quite happily charges my 21700's, so I am good. Thanks.
