Hi all, just a quick question about the many 3D printed squonkers that are out there at the moment, do they all perform roughly the same (genuine one's not clones)? are the differences just cosmetic and down to personal preference?

Cheers.

They are all pretty much built along the same lines, what you will find is that some hit harder and perform better than others due to the make of the 510 connection and whether they have copper or silver contacts...

As above really.
Most of the popular ones use the modmaker 510 and bottles these days as well as offering copper or silver contacts, so theres not a huge difference from one to the other. Keeping the contacts clean is also very important for performance too I find.

@geordie that's good to hear, both of mine have Modmaker 510's and copper contacts, now I don't feel the need to spend the kids inhertance on new mods. Plenty of isopropyl alcohol in the garage to keep the he contacts clean as well.

There are a huge range available as has already been said. Ice Cream Man makes some lovely mini mech squonks, easy to find on Facebook as well - not 3D printed but milled delrin
Modmaker 510's and beryllium copper contacts which require hardly any maintenance.

Another UK based modder are Seize mods who make the Zipper 3d printed squonk

Deoxit is what I use on my mechs to keep them performing well

The Gingervaper Boxer Classic BF Mod has a custom made 510 as well as Rhodium plated Beryllium Copper contacts. There is little to no need to clean them and they should end up having better conductivity than most of the rest on the market right now. It also comes not only as a single 18650 but also in a 2X700 version (compatible with 20700 as well as 21700 batteries), which is a tiny bit larger.

21700 - Samsung INR21700-30T should become available within the next few months and this seems to be just a dream come true for me. I am not willing to spend hundreds of bucks on a mech mod, that still uses 18650 batteries.
