What's new

Mech users- what are your favourite mechs, and why?

My faves are Purge v3 , Purge Fallout , Heavy Hitters , Cluch single 21700 box mod.
A couple more I forgot about are Deathwish Modz Bogan Edition and a One Top Pharaoh ( both very heavy lumps )
Some nice choices, and I didn't expect the One Top Pharaoh as that is very different! Looks lovely though I must admit.

I use the Clutch alot, 21700 fit in my hand good, finger fire and flat bottom so sit pretty stable.
It has a fire lock aswell.View attachment 361933
The clutch seems like a pretty cool mod!

Does anyone know of a good 21700 mech that doesn't use a hybrid top cap? I have hybrids in the collection myself but for some reason prefer a standard 510 connection instead of direct to battery.

Not sure if I'm honest, think hybrid 510 has pretty much become the standard. A few have adjustable pin that you adjust by taking the atomizer off to get to the screw, my Saga mini series adjusts that way.
But if your atomizer isnt hybrid safe I probly wouldn't use it on any mech, unless the mechs positive pin is a very small diameter.

I see, I wonder why hybrid 510 has became the standard now? I guess its for voltage drop or something like that?
Oh neither would I, I remember I got a Wotofo Lush that should have been called the Flush when I got my Wotofo Phantom mech, the positive pin was almost so flush that I was worried to use it!
I posted here and someone commented it was reverse threaded and adjustable, so I managed to sort that out, but I was wary of using it when I first received it.

On a box mech you more likely to get a normal 510 connection.
Hybrid is better to me less bits and easier to clean less to go wrong, direct contact is less likely for voltdrop, and as the battery rattle is self adjusting at the negative end no need for adjustable or floating 510. Mods can be shorter with hybrid aswell.
If you have to adjust a 510 when swapping an atomizer that's more of ball ache then a hybrid with self adjusting battery rattle.

I can't deny all of those things, and have hybrids such as the AV Able, SCNDRL, Noisy cricket series mech, and the good old SMPL mods.
I enjoy using them, and for the life of me don't know why but I just prefer seeing a standard 510 connection instead of the hole with a hybrid top cap.
Even my Wotofo Phantom came with both a standard 510 and also a Hybrid top cap in the box, you could change it so was up to you which you used, I always used the standard 510 connection.
I understand mods can be shorter with the hybrid connection which makes sense, and also the self adjusting battery rattle is a bonus with hybrids.

I am such an idiot, where I have so many mods I thought I would look through them, and I already have a 21700 mech! The Vindicator 21, it needs a good clean up- I was wondering why I had a 21700 Molicel battery if I didn't have any mods that fit it, that explains the battery.

It is a hybrid top cap but thats fine, now time to clean up the Vindicator, it appears to be brass so will be grabbing the brasso out in a minute.

If your batterys are getting on a bit does your charger tell you the internal resistance?

Awesome on finding out your vindicator is 21700👍🏻 guess the name would be a giveaway I.e 21

Unfortunately my Nitecore D4 and Efest LUC something doesn't tell you internal resistance, only the battery voltage.

The 21700 will have been hardly used though, as I believe the only mod it fits is in fact the Vindicator, and I am sure I did not use it much. The Molicel P42A 21700 was at an OK voltage for having just sat unused for a while and charged fine- one of my 18650's that I had left in a mod was not reading on the charger, I checked its voltage and it was at 0.7V! That one has gone straight in the bin.

Yes, the name is a giveaway the 21, but I forgot I even had a mod that took 21700's lol.
