You're only an old bugger when you remember songs from when the world was in black and white
For me it was going to a friends and watching Star Trek lol. I remember dad buying the Beatles Revolver LP in mono cos he couldn't afford the stereo version. It was in black and white for me Mark... most of the time anyway. Dad had been made redundant from the steelworks and was out of work... couldn't afford a colour tv license or the rental price of a colour tv from Rumbelows either. I used to pop up the road to a friend's house to watch Top of the Pops in all it's gaudy gloriousness on their colour telly.
When I was young there was a really old woman wondering around the little housing estate I lived on one day and she kept shouting 82! 82! over and over in a confused way.

ive posted this a fair few times when people talk about the 80's etc.....we were so poor that in the 80's i only had a yo!!!
A y! I would have given my right arm for a y! All I had was a string with a stone tied on to it. It was fine on the way down but wasn't so good at coming back up againConsidering I was born and dragged up in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Sheffield, I feel fully entitled to post it.
You had a yo? God you were spolit... we had to save up for 5 years just to put a deposit down on a y.
