Hi folks.
Given that big old lump, the Taifun GT, a fair old pasting over the past few weeks. Do I like it? I do now, but still prefer my KF/Russians (for no reason other than aesthetics and personal preference, they are both pretty on par as far as performance).
My only downside with the Taifun was inconsistancy of vape. Not the TF's fault, but more to do with variations in my coil builds. For me, to be 100% happy with a vaping device, I like 'em to be same same same and able to cope with any of my rough and ready coils, regardless of ohms or wicking matarial. KF + and Russian can do this for me via adjustment of air control. The TF has no air flow control. I toyed with the idea of getting different sized air tubes to match different setups, but swapping them over, repeatedly, just didn't sound fun to me.
What to do? Last week, in a moment of madness, I simply removed the steel air tube. This is going to be an airy fekker now I thought. Turned out that, yes, it was an airy draw, compared to bog standard, air tube in, but not so airy as to make it an issue. And the best part? Sub ohm, 2.0 ohm, silica, ekowool, ekowool with silica insert, micro and cotton, and my hotch potch silica/mesh hybrid, all give me a very decent vape, with the vapour, flavour and TH, that keeps me a happy bunny and my TF has become a chuck any thing in, it'll work, which is exactly how I like my gear.
