I'm hoping someone is still awake to answer this.

Will protected batteries only fire a coil from a certain resistance? I've just built a coil which is reading at 1.3ohm and it's vaping excellent. However it only seems to work with unprotected batteries.

Theres probably too many amps being drawn from a 1.3ohm coil so protection in the battery is kicking in

Thanks. Is it safe to use tho? If not what is the lowest resistance I can go to that is still considered safe to use?

Don't know for certain what is the lowest safe resistance, but protected mods (as opposed to protected batteries) tend to cut out below 1.2 ohms. Personally, I don't go below 1.6ish and I try to stay above 1.8.

Check out the main page of the wiki for a chart about safe vaping voltages
