Accurate Flavour Weight Measurements

Interesting. I think it depends on how you look at what you’re doing when you mix your liquids. Do you see your mixing as an act of science or an act of art? Science demands repeatability. Art is all about the spontaneous response of the consumer. I can see both sides of the argument and suspect many diy mixers switch between the two at times during their journey. @zouzounaki may be pulling your chain, I can’t say for certain, but I don’t think the approach he describes is entirely without merit, even if it isn’t for everyone.
I see it as both. I like to tinker with my mixes but if I don't have a benchmark regarding what I did in the first place then my next try would be wasted as I would not be able to replicate what I've done. Arguably why bother using a calculator if your not going to take any notice of the amounts and ratios it states.
I've got nothing against anyone wanting to do things differently, if it works for them then fine and yes he is pulling my chain. The problem with that is if other people read it and thinks that's the right way of doing something.

I think the best approach is always the one you're happiest with.

The art / science thing is interesting though. I think it's good to have a certain amount of both. From what I've seen most of the big e-liquid makers all employ professional chefs as well as chemists to come up with their recipes.

Thank Christ flavour manufactures don't have that attitude. The first rule in providing anything that is made up of several components is the ability to replicate it.
If you don't want to replicate it that's your choice but it would be a sorry state of affairs if a company produced something that people wanted and when asked for it again they couldn't provide it because they weren't sure on how they achieved it in the first place.

I agree, but I mix eliquid in the house for personal use, it’s not really the same.

Tinkering with a recipe to constantly try to improve on it is one thing but I prefer the idea of having a pretty close idea of what I've done before so I have more control about what I want to change rather than leaving any changes down to random variations of guessed amounts. That's not a criticism though. We all like to do things the way we feel happiest. There's nothing wrong with that

Exactly this.

I’m not pulling your chain at all. this for me is the right way of doing it. I have a couple of syringes and measuring cylinders, never measure pg or vg apart from when I’m mixing up a litre of base. The base mix just gets poured straight in to the smaller bottles with the flavours. I know it will be roughly 50ml because that’s the size of the bottle. I’ve never weighed liquid. Never take a note or write anything down. It’s just how I prefer to do it.

As I've said previously, however you prefer to mix is fine with me. If your happy with the outcome then great. If you like the randomness and excitement of having a rough idea of your quantities, again if your happy, then fine.
For me I like to know if I'm experimenting with say 5 different flavours combinations I at least have something documented to say what different percentages of flavours I've used. If when I vape that juice one of the flavours I've used is a bit strong, I can then adjust in the next batch.
It wasn't me that said you was pulling my chain, I simply agreed.

It’s like cooking, different people do things differently. I rarely follow a recipe to the letter, sometimes even just glance at it for a general idea or not use one at all, whereas some folk like to weight out 6 grams of salt, 80ml olive oil etc.

It was you that said I was pulling your chain.

Read the thread. @memzey said your maybe pulling my chain, I agreed as it appeared to me you was.

@memzey said i don’t know if he’s pulling your chain. You said, yes, he is pulling my chain. But it doesn’t matter. I’m not, anyway.
Fortunately things are written down and documented so we can go back and check to see if we need to readjust anything.
