Advice/discouragement?

Being off the smokes for so long you should do as others have said and try out the 0mg options first to see if they work for you. It seems a bit crazy to willingly addict yourself to a drug when there is a nicotine-free option to try.

Good luck with whatever you decided and I'm sure the community here will be able to help out with any questions you have.

Hi I am an ex smoker of 10 years, (was 20+ a day for 20 years). I do miss smoking and was thinking of starting using an ecig. Not sure what to get and worried it might make me want to start smoking again. What do you think? I was hoping I might lose the weight I gained when I quit?? And feel happier again??
any thoughts please?

Personally, I would suggest not taking up vaping if you have been off cigarettes and 'totally quit' for 10 years.

Whilst vaping is generally accepted to be a much safer alternative to smoking, you'd probably be better off managing without vaping if you can. Yes, it's enjoyable and given the choice between smoking and vaping I'd say go for vaping every time, but as you've said, you aren't a smoker any more so the best choice health wise would probably be to stick with complete abstinence.

That said, if you feel very tempted to start smoking again, then yes, try vaping zero nic and see if it helps.

Thank you all so much for the welcome and comments, what a lovely bunch xxx I was thinking the nicotine was the appetite suppressant but as you say maybe a vape with a coffee or in the evening when I am bored may help even with zero nicotine. I will check out the shisha ones thank you all. Xx

Hi Elaine, welcome to POTV ;) I would say that maybe you need more than a vaping device to make you feel happy, but I think many of us are here and indulge in a variety of vaping methods because it does bring a certain amount of happiness to us, I do, at least.
Weight loss would not be part of the equation really, I didn't gain weight as part of not smoking, but I recently found out that I have weight gain and tiredness, and general down grrrness (and have had so for most likely over a decade) due to a hereditary issue that none of my bloody family saw fit to let me in on! Arsehelmets! I made myself feel better by hiring hitmen and having them all wiped out, not really, but I can dream. Still, it isn't common in men (but is in women), and my boobs are great.
So, maybe you need a wider view of what you need to do with your life than you can get from just vaping, or this forum, but...it is nice to have indulgences, they help, as long as they do not become the main point of being, and if you want to explore your options further, listen to what everyone says in response to any questions you have, then totally ignore most of it, and make a considered judgement on what will work for you, realising that you might not get it right immediately, but that it can be worked on nonetheless.
I will add that actually smoking would most likely make you feel miserable, especially after all this time.
Oprah and out!

Hi, buy a zero nic and a 10mg. You can add different amounts of each into the clearomizer and give it a little shake. This bway you can have as much or as little nic as you want.
