Morning Folks

After my dramas with the eGO One I've decided to go for something else. I know there is alot more choice on the net but I want to buy from a shop should anything go wrong.

I'm going to pop along to Vibrant Vapours in Swansea and pick up either one of these as long as there is some support for at least one from the good folk of POTV!

I'd like something with a bit of power but nothing too expensive. Would prefer a glass tank so I can have any juice in the thing.

Have picked out these two:

iTaste-VV V4 1000mAh - iTaste

Coolfire 1 - Coolfire

Would be very grateful for any pros and cons advice on these. Should I buy any different coils etc for better performance? Apologies if questions are a bit naive but still taking my first few tentative steps into the vaping world!

If anyone fancies recommending something else please fire away! Electronic Cigarette and E-Liquid | vibrant-vapours.co.uk - looking to spend no more than £50 on the inital kit if I can help it.

Cheers

Freddie

Hi Freddie,if that is the style of mod you think you will use for the foreseeable future then I would go with the iTaste, however I have not used either of those. The problem is the majority of people who have those types of devices normaly upgrade again pretty soon, that really depends on your vaping style as such. Some people inhale to their mouth and then into their lungs with semi decent amounts of vapor and some inhale directly into their lungs with semi decent amounts of vapour.Others do both of those with large amounts of vapour. Are you contemplating upgrading just because or that the kit you have already is not cutting it in your opinion? There may be those that want to upgrade just to be seen with something a little bit more fancy. You can see why it is not easy for people to reccommend anything nowadays, as we all have different needs and expectations.

If I were to suggest anything for you and you like the look of it, then go with the MVP3 Pro from my Epack This is a tried and tested solid reliable bit of kit, the service from Myepack is very good.Like I say not knowing what you are chasing after I would suggest the Naturevape Pro tanks These two bits of kit together will provide you with trouble free vaping.Read some reviews on both of them and check out the videos on Youtube.Ok it works out a little more than you want but I would say it`s well worth hanging in to save a bit more for them. This is only my opinion and others will have different ideas. If you reply to this then try and explain in a little more detail why you want to upgrade,it gives people a better understanding and can suggest accordingly.

+1 for the naturevape tanks. They have been my only up-grade in 20 months of vaping. Re-wick yourself easily and the coils last months. If you get one & find you like it, you can then buy RG200 from Fasttech which is nearly identical. I never get any leaking and very rarely get gurgling. Simple to clean too. I can also get cheap similar coils for them.
Not used the MVP3 so I cant comment. Got 3 MVP2`s and they are great. If you want to keep nearer your budget, look at the cool fire 4. Same Innokin build quality and very neat. A company called Bold Vape had them cheap. I bought my two from ecigone, about £28 Incl. delivery.
I wouldn`t be worried about buying online. I`ve never bought anything from a B&M shop.

Hi Chaps

Thanks for the advice. I bought a mini protank from myepack last year so happy to use them again.

I bought an eGO One last week from a shop in London (why are they called B & M shops?!) but had alot of leakage and spitting liquid issues with it. I would’ve preferred to have bought from a shop in the local area having moved back to Wales in-case I get problems with my next purchase but I think I’ll give myepack another try.

Not bothered about huge amounts of vapour! Something that can give a good taste, doesn’t take much maintenance and doesn’t leak like a tap like the eGo one did!

I like the look of the MVP3! Is it pretty easy to get along with as a relative novice? Does the tank slot in easily to the kit? What is the difference between a 1.4 ohm/1.8 ohm coil - more power?!

Tidy!

Freddie

I totally agree with the advice about getting a more powerful device, as a lot of new vapers tend to go from "this little pen device is so nice. i will never need to upgrade" to "i wish i could use this other tank at 35 watts :(".

Personally I have issues with the MVP 3.0. I find it quite uncomfortable in my hand, the centre pin is not of highest quality, and I think that the size is just all wrong. I'm guessing that for a new user this won't be a problem, but personally I don't like it since I already had a taste of better mods before so the MVP 3 seems like a downgrade to me in terms of comfort of use. Right now I'm using an iStick 100 W which is only a tiny bit larger than the MVP 3 and feel much more comfortable.

Nowadays I tend to recommend the iStick 40 TC to new vapers: good battery life, smaller and more comfortable to hold, will work with majority of tanks that use stock coils, will also work at sub ohm level with most tanks right now and last but not least - it has Temperature Control. TC is really starting to pick up right now and a lot of people are liking it, so if this is something that you would want in future, then you can do it. Since you sounds like a mouth to lung vaper, I doubt that you will need to go above 20 watts, but if you want to try lug hits or something like that - 40 watts will be enough to give you a taste of it.

Ohms are used to calculate the resistance of the wire. Lower resistance = more power can go through the coil so normally you would turn up the wattage a bit for 1.4 and turn it down for 1.8 ohm coils. Running too much power through a coil can break it, that's why it is important to know what your coil can handle.

Blowing massive clouds requires build that use low ohms, like 0.3 ohms for example, this is where people inhale directly into their lungs - this is called sub ohming.

I've not used Naturevape tanks long enough to be able to say much about it other than it is good, I simply don't have much more input on this one. The one I use mainly for M2L is the Nautilus, a very popular starter tank that I'm still using 8 months later.

Hi

I have no experience of that set up but it costs far more than you need to spend. There are loads of threads where people ask for advice on a set up. Mine is around here somewhere. What is normally recommended is:

Mod: iStick 30w/40wTC/50w or the Coolfire 4

Tanks: Nautilus full size/mini, Naturevape or Kanger Subtank pro.

All shops are likely to recommend what they have in stock. B+M is bricks and mortar meaning they have a shop as opposed to online. Most online shops do have a B+M presence somewhere. The way the high street is going nowadays.

All these products are high volume, low margin. They have to sell a lot of these and therefore customer loyalty is not the first priority. You should look for the best deal from a reputable supplier. There are loads of codes on the discount page which is linked to in the tool bar at the top of the page.

Morning

I contacted myepack to see if they could offer any more advice and Ash has recommended IPV D2 75W TEMPERATURE CONTROL BOX MOD - Mods with FREEMAX STARRE SUB OHM TANK V3 - Clearomizers and SONY VTC5 2600MAH 30A - Batteries & Chargers - a bit over my initial budget but happy to spend a bit more for the right kit.

Anyone have any experience of this, or some of this set-up please?

Thanks
Very solid recommendation, you'll get a great vape from that. What are your expectations of it ... how do you think you'll be vaping?

Afternoon Folks

Thanks for all the advice. Not sure if I'm aiming a bit high with these temperature control kits! In effect, I'm just starting vaping but have tried a couple of the standard starter kits. I'm looking for something a bit more advanced than those but nothing too technical that'll hopefully keep me off the fags! Do you think what's been mentioned will be suitable or should I look for something else?

Cheers

Fred

Hi Scrumpox,

the few times I've vaped I take it down as I would if smoking a fag. Is this what you mean? Do some folk vape as if a cigar or pipe and not get a lung hit?

Still getting used to the jargon!

Cheers
