Altus by guo....the review!

or at least it was going to be a review but the damn thing seems to have destroyed my lavabox! It has been working much better in temp control mode, low power at 30w. Really superb flavour, still a poor ramp up time but improved on what it was in standard mode. But the whole tank gets hot. Not after prolonged use, after just a few blasts on it. This afternoon I was testing the wicking with some high vg juice and I think the heat of the tank has caused the mod to shut itself down for safety and is now dead!

So if you are thinking of trying the Altus from guo.....just don't, unless you want it to kill your mod!

I can't fault the flavour from it but that is only after waiting for it to heat up. That is the only positive I can come up with. It is hidiously made, some of the worst threads I've ever seen, the clouds are poor (I'm not a cloud chaser but I like to feel that after sucking up a lungful that something has been produced!), the ramp up time is a joke, it takes far too much effort to rewick as you have to take it fully apart (I can re coil a tank in a couple of minutes, this takes 5+ and most of that is fighting with the poxy threads!). And of course killing my mod was the final straw-it's dead! It will light up if I plug it in but won't charge and as soon as I screw an atty in, it says fuck off and the screen goes black. This one was on sale at midland vaping for £69 but that is £69 too much. How anyone can sell this crap at the retail price is completely beyond my comprehension

Well all may not be lost, looks like it has just popped the fuse on the Dna board for well done evolve for making a board that does what it should it's good to know the safety features that are often spoken about actually work! I still don't get what the tank did to make it pop as I was running it at the lowest recommended settings so it should not have been putting my mod under any stress, let alone enough to make it pop!

I saw it online when it first "appeared" and was hopeful for it.Too damn pricey like you guys said, even at the discounted price(s)! I was surprised at how quickly it got discounted at several vendors, the reason must be that it really isn't all that. Bottom line is, if it did what it it boasted really well, then this thing would be all over the vape world like a rash.

I know of several people whos DNA 200s fuses have popped, all of them went whilst in TC :/
