America's first vaping accident fatality

Agreed, but could just have been just a faulty cell that escaped the QC checks...

Could be.
We may well find out.

Faulty cell or not it is more likely to fail if being pushed hard.
There is a reason batteries have amp limits. Most of the bad shit happens to folk pushing those limits.
This does not preclude the possibility that the guy had a 1.8 ohm coil and was just unlucky with a bad cell.

unnecessary.....comment

Best edit ever. :D
But forget everything about what may or may not have caused this accident and ask yourself this: Would this guy be alive today if he had been using a regulated device?

Well, I guess we'll just wait for the next, Unattended Charging Vaping Device Burns Family Alive, headline......

If all mech users regularly check the mech making sure everything is nice and clean and more importantly check and double check batteries you should be fine.

Did the guy who was killed build below 0.11 as it was a single 18650, big mistake is people building stupidly low ohm coils, look at this way, a gun is NOT dangerous only the person who uses it.

Anyway a vaper has lost his life and thats not good, so R.I.P fella
