So I've had a Kayfun Lite clone for quite a while and it's a real pain in the arse to get right. To start with it was literally pissing juice out of the airflow hole no matter what I did - lifting the coil, varying amounts of wick etc. It seemed as though everybody seemed to be saying that less is more when it comes to Kayfuns in terms of wick, so that's what I was working to do and I couldn't get on with it. I'm using cotton by the way. Then I came across this wicking theory http://m.imgur.com/a/zeCJY# and what do you know, the leaking has stopped!

It's entirely possible that my leaks were because it's a Fasttech device and there's something not right with it, but I'm convinced that all the seals are good as it's totally airtight.

Anyway, I've been using it pretty solidly over any other tanks since its stopped leaking as it does vape very well now, so that's great. The only trouble is, I have to change the wick every day now as after 24 hours I have a burnt taste. Not a problem really but I wondered if that is normal really. Could it be because my wick is so tight inside the coil or could it be to do with the juice? I've been on Tjuice's Primo Verde, so I was wondering if the tobacco flavour is what's doing it.

Any thoughts? Ta :-)

You may still be starving the wick a bit at times under heavy load( chain vaping etc). This causes the wick to burn slightly. You will get that burnt flavour constantly then until you clean, dry burn and change your wick. I get maybe 2 days out of my cotton wick in my kayfun to be honest, and it never tastes burnt. I just change because I'm changing juice.

Check out todds kayfun build on YouTube or Pbusardo build, again on YouTube. Might help you out a bit.

OK, thanks, that makes sense. It could be because having rebuilt my Vamo into a box mod I'm now using that again rather than my mechs and it is hitting pretty hard, and I am chaining quite a bit with it! It's no great hardship having to clean / dryburn / rewick, I was just wondering if it's normal to do it so often. I just had to do that and it was literally this time last night that I last did it!

Is it the Lite+, with the Airflow control? If it is, try adjusting that. I found that my airflow screw was creeping and I'd get a burnt taste but wouldn't notice the change in airflow as it was so gradual. I got round it by putting the tiniest dab of super glue on the screw and then screwing in and out for a few minutes until the glue had cured without locking the screw in position.

Nah, no airflow control unfortunately.
