Hi All,
I'm not exactly new to the vaping experience - I bought an NJoy set last year, which uses the pre-filled cartridges. I was quite happy initially with it, and had a small variety of flavours, but my interest dropped off a little (though I was a much happier bunny on my long-haul flights last year - even if I did have to do it sneakily because of their unreasonable attitude to vaping).

I think the main problem was the lack of vapour - and I suspect the full benefit soon ran out of cartridges, leaving a rather unsatisfying vape.

I decided to get an eGo CE4 with charger & 10ml of juice in the market last weekend, and I have to admit to being much more impressed, not to mention rather taken with the idea of mixing my own juices (and have already spent £95 on a 1090ml of ingredients).

I've only just discovered that the unit I've bought uses a disposable head, which is a bit disappointing, and research has indicated wide ranging estimates on how long each is likely to last. However, the consolation is that, as far as I can make out, I could add a reusable tank with the battery I have, so at least it's not an entire waste if I decide I don't want to be forking out for replacements on a regular basis.

I've found I've had much greater success in replacing cigarettes with this one - I usually smoke 15-20 per day, which has dropped to 5 per day without feeling deprived. At the moment, I'm allowing myself those few special ciggies through the day - coffee break, after lunch/tea, mid evening - and I'm not being strict about NEVER any more. If I want mkore, I don't beat myself up about it, but 5 per day seems to be sufficient (unless I'm with other smokers). At present, I'm not regarding it as a stop-smoking plan, just a reduction and avoiding picking up the country's tax shortfall as much as possible.

As time goes on, I may cut out some of those special ciggie moments and replace with a vape - and maybe one day the e-cig will be all I'll need - no pressure.

If I get to that point, then I'll start to gradually reduce the nicotine content until I'm nicco-free. Then if I want to pack in the vaping, I will, but no reason to if I want to hang on to the comfort and all the fun flavours.

I find that strict ciggie deprivation timetables just make me edgy, which makes me need them more - so I'm not placing any expectations on myself, just choosing to replace as many cigs with the e-cig as I feel comfortable with at the time.

My nic, VG & PG arrived today, but none of my 19 flavours yet - really hoping they arrive tomorrow so I can play over the weekend!

Great post Fleabag and welcome to you. There are no rules with switching. Some can do it completely and almost overnight. Others struggle with some favourite smoke times. Take it at your own pace. And well done!

Hiya. It sounds like you've got a good attitude to vaping-just enjoy what you're doing and see how you go. Most vaping gear has a certain amount of disposability whether its batteries or heads, it's part of the fun I'm afraid :)

The one plus I can see to using disposables is that I haven't a clue what people are talking about when I see discussions about mesh, coils and whatnot (I've got my head around replacable wicks, but that's only because a work colleague has those - I don't think anyone's warned her there may be more DIY involved!)
