heard alot about guys modding the cells for 18650's in their drill's to make them more powerful/last longer and cheaper than stock batteries. Look at the price for a 18v replacement for a dewalt at B&Q, nearly £50, you can't blame them really.
But if you want to look like a mad dentist i say go for it
