Hey guys
I've been vaping for quite a while now but I'm very new to sub-ohm vaping and decided to give it a try so I picked up the 88vape sub-ohm mod but I didn't look online for a review (stupid I know) it seems okay for budget but the tank gets quite hot after say 5 draws is this something I can fix or is it just normal.....any and all advice greatly appreciated

To be honest. I think you will struggle to find anyone on here who has used one. It's a bit of a worrying subject. If this is the one I'm thinking of it is sold in a bargain shop. It's not vape snobbery it's general concern that a potentially dangerous device is being sold without any knowledgeable staff to advise. But it's the future I suppose.
Hopefully someone has picked one up to test and can advise you.
Good luck mate.

Hi and welcome to the Planet.

never heard of this kit. after google is this it http://www.88vape.co.uk/88vape-50watt-mod-starter-kit-silver

cant really give any advise on it but tanks do get hot if your using higher wattage and as this says it goes upto 50watts then if your running at that wattage then theres your problem.

i use tanks at 50-55w and yes they do get hot while chain vaping. i also have tanks that run at 200w now thats what i call fookin hot.

Thanks guys I did have my doubts after I bought it it was cheap and seems poorly made as long as the battery doesn't get hot I'm sure it will be fine I'm going to get a new vape so hopefully I'll have better luck.
Another question I have that I've tried to Google but had no result is when vaping I sometimes get what I guess is the eliquid shooting in to by mouth.....red hot and little drops.....I checked the coil to see if it was flooded but it seemed okay and there's no liquid in the central pipe......any thoughts ?
Again thanks guys

Probably just the cheap kit. Some tanks allow air to get trapped which can cause spitting, but it's usually just tank design.

Strip the whole thing down and clean it - it may help.

I just binned a Cuboid for this exact reason.

As Pete has said, strip it down and give it a good clean. If it's no better, probably time to consider a better piece of kit (I mean that in the nicest way, please don't take me the wrong way.) I had the same issues with my initial vape gear, was terrible for spitting and no matter what I tried I just couldn't get it to quit.

Welcome aboard by the way! :D

Yeah it's probably down to the fact that it's cheep and poorly made I stripped it down and..no change ahh well no harm done I've ordered a new kit to see how I get on with that but at least I know not to get or recommend the 88vape.....thanks again guys you've all been a great help and thanks for being so welcoming :)

Looks like a lot of the other "pen" type intermediate/starter kits (aspire/Joyetech/kanger etc.). It's normal for the tank to get hot with use, they all do, however if it's the battery that's getting too hot that's another matter.

As long as you have learned the lesson - check some reviews first and ask on here 'fore you buy!
Spit back does happen and it depends on the coil, the wicking the juice and/or the power levels going thro it.

Better luck next time and do ask on here for recommendations!!

what new bit of kit did you order?

i get spitback with my cleito sometimes at 50watts. its either a flooded coil or naff coil and once changed all is hunky dorey.
