Hi I have been vaping now for quite a few years. My name is to give up smoking and go to vaping however..

I have found the liquid that I most like but I really don't know what coil to use.
I'm also a DTL vaper. I have the wattage at 80.
I use 3mg 70VG 30PG.

I am using a Geekvape Aegis Touch Mod with a Geekvape Z Sub Ohm Tank.
The coil is use is 0.15 ohm coils 80-90W

My problem is most times I vape the hit on my throat is really harsh. Which I obviously don't want.

Absolutely any advice would be extremely appreciated many thanks guys!

Hi, welcome to the forum.

From your description I would try lowering the wattage to say 40W and see how you get on with the draw and throat hit. The 80-90 watts is only a guide. I vape on a similar device with this coil and very seldom vape over 40W.

Hi @Saul Goodman and welcome to the planet.
Zeus tank has been my daily use for a couple of years but the coils have gone downhill big time.
I've changed to the newer XM 0.15 coils which last longer than the original but I can't push them much more than 35watts now where at first I was on max 50-60w.
I think your 80w is the problem. The range on most coils are exaggerated and just a guide which I don't believe.
I've now bought 2 itankT tanks which are also top airflow and those coils can handle higher wattage better than the geekvap Z coils.

As mentioned, with stock coils the manufacturers estimation is almost always overstated, being a cynic I believe it is the manufacturers attempt to get the vaper to burn through coils in order to make more sales.
With stock coils I start at about a third of their lowest rating most times, from there I up the wattage a couple of watts every few puffs in order to break the coil in and not have the hot wire shrink the cotton away from the coil which is another way to ruin a coil, from there I let the flavour be my guide to the ideal vape, numbers are just a guide, taste is the final arbiter.
it is not unusual to have coils from the same batch to need a different ideal final wattage.

OP not logged in since the day of first post.

but on that same day i swapped my zeus to the itank t and still on the first coil a month later but running at 35w instead of the stated 70w
