Hey there,

Am really new to this whole vaping thing. I purchased a SkyCig kit through Groupon as it was pretty cheap and I wanted to see how I got on with it.

I've been using it for three weeks, but smoking as well. I used to smoke 15 Drum rollies a day, and have cut down to 4 per day with the SkyCig.

The 'selection' pack of liquids was starting to run out so I looked at refilling them and have since purchased some liquid and successfully refilled.

I'm getting on ok with the SkyCig but the battery doesn't seem to last ages, I keep having to swap it over a lot so decided to look into other options.

Two hours later my brain started to hurt...

I've seen the "Riva 1100" pop up quite a bit, but I am unsure as to what you get with it all means:

2x 1100mah batteries (3 clicks on/off) - I understand this is a battery, sorted.
1 x Vision Ego standard resistance clearomisers - No clue what this is
5 x Standard resistance cartomisers - Again, not really sure what these are.
1 x Cover cone - ?
1 x USB charger - Check
1 x 510 Drip tip - Sounds rude, not sure what it is
1 x Carry case - Check

Like I say I'm reasonably happy with the SkyCig, but the battery is a bit of a letdown and on the whole I am not thinking it will last too long. I have 2x50g pouches of Drum left over, I'm planning on smoking 4 or so a day until that has run out and then just sticking with the vaping - with the intention of giving up completely eventually.

I'm not too fussed about it looking like a cigarette, but I don't want it to be too big, definitely needs to be portable as I hardly smoke at home.

With all of that in mind could someone recommend things to me? Or explain what all of the things mean?

I like the menthol and have bought some menthol liquid, only 8mg and it seems to be fine, although I am also smoking obviously so may have to monitor that.

Any advice given would be great, sorry for the super long op.

Cheers in advance.

The clearomisers (clearos) are the bits you put the eliquid in which contain the heat element to turn the juice into vapour, as are the cartomisers (cartos). The cone cover makes it looks tidier. The drip tip is the mouth piece which goes into the top of the clearo. I've not used the kit but I believe it's pretty good. Clearos and cartos are disposable items, you can refill them but once they start to loose their flavour or loose some performance then it's time to bin them and get a new one on the go. I hope that helps :)

As a kit go, baring in mind you don't mention price, it sounds good as a next step.

An 1100 mah battery will easily last you at least a day based on what you currently smoke.

1100 batteries are quite long. Think high end cigar but slimmer.

this is a good starter kit, my mate got his yesterday and loves it

theres probably a discount code as well, try AAEC in the checkout ?

--- Thats a very cheap bit of kit mate... ANY Noob would do well to take advantage of this offer, specially if with a valid discount code... under £25

Everything needed to begin vaping so to speak, My only criticism batteries could be larger rather than 650mah but they are certainly good enough to get going . :goodjob:

Ok, thanks. So the 'clearos' and 'cartos' are the same thing? You put the liquid in them.

The cone does nothing but is aesthetic. The drip tip is necessary? or again just something that makes it look better?

Are all of these kits substantially bigger than a 'normal' cigarette?

Thanks again.

£35. Only a day? Presume the battery only is 'used' when you're actively 'drawing'?

That's pretty big.

If there is somewhere to deposit it, your juice will work :D
and re the 1100 mah battery.... I vape like a beast, and only charge my battery nightly because i HATE being caught short... An average vaper will get a lot more time out of there's.

Consider mine a worse case scenario :D

Your not gonna get anything that looks like a fag if you are struggling with batteries on 15 fags a day ...your vaping more (nevermind it does less harm ?) I started on the 510 3hrs tops (heavy smoker) now moved onto the ego 1100mah lasts between 9-12 hrs about the size of a good cigar ...pick a carto and away you go

try not to think of it as smoking ...you will be amazed
