Anyone used these concentrates?

Diche

I've just been playing on Google, dreaming up various "extras" that might make weird but tasty juices & keep getting "hits" for such as "fennel concentrate"

Try it for any flavours you fancy having an experiment with.

A site I was just on offered up this little snippet...

If it's an essence,it will be in PG/Water/Alcohol.If it's an extract their liquids are in sunflower oil (& oils a negative as we all know)

Weird but tasty is kind of where I am trying to go with a couple of blends for my personal consumption. It seems to me that other than tobacco flavours everything is rather sweet except for a few fast food flavours which in my experience so far have been a bit gross. I'm not really a pudding person, so I am looking to see what I can create with a slightly savoury twist. It could all be a disaster, but it is going to be fun trying :D

Many plant products create their own oils upon extraction, coffee and vanilla have natural oils to name but two, I just see homebrew extraction as something that is going to add complications I would rather avoid at this stage. I think going weird and interesting is quite enough of a challenge for my first attempt at flavour creation

May I suggest hibiscus, if it can be found as a (good) concentrate that is. I use the dried flowers as a nice little herbal tea, it has a lovely rich, but slightly bitter, taste. It's on my list of things to find but haven't got round to looking yet. I'm not too keen on the sweet stuff either so would for instance find something like lemon and rosemary far more appealing that any of the dessert stuff that's out there...

I have certainly come across a few herby ones, Herb de Provence, Thyme and also Bayleaf. I was thinking of trying a touch of herbs in some white grape as a possible mix. I am building up my concentrate collection gradually, last months purchases included Black Pepper and Clove, both of which I expected to be foul on their own, but were surprisingly pleasant, still need a recipe to balance them, but the didn't make me grimace. Unfortunately the tomato I got tasted of pizza topping so I still have a ways to go.

Orange I guess would be the obvious with black pepper and clove. Vanilla works with clove (I sometime mix them when I'm baking stuff - not tried as a vape mix though so it could be foul!)

Cinamon, Chilli, Star Anise and Fennel are also on the shopping list for next month ;)

Yum (well except cinnamon!) The problem I seem to have when looking for flavours is that I get distracted by the myriad on offer and end up just not buying anything because there's too many!

I had the same problem when trying to create a shopping list for last month. I had about five different recipe ideas in my head, but the myriad of choices and different vendors left me a bit goggle eyed. In the end I just picked one vendor and one brand of concentrate and ordered 10 bottles. No one vendor had all the ingredients I was looking for for any of the recipes so I resigned myself to that knowing that I wasn't going to be doing any proper mixing until next month. I couldn't afford the nic anyway so it was no biggy. Next month it will be nic, and another 10 concentrates from a different vendor, hopefully that will give me all of the ingredients for at least a couple of recipes and I will have a base to build on in months to come.

I'm going to have to start getting a bit more organised with purchasing concentrates! Where did you get the black pepper from? I'm thinking it would go nicely with the cucumber/mint I have.

I went searching for hibiscus and Capella make it :yahoo:

I think what I'm going to order from several places in early December and just get a whole bunch of stuff to play with.
