Aromanizer chimney coil build......worth bothering an attempt?

I fancy trying it - horizontal coil facing main airflow instead of facing up, wick wrapped around the outside like a nano dragon coil or a KF4 chimney coil a'la mr trippers (ahh the good old days for me, maybe even this time last year when my idea of a fun evening was to spend 2-3 hours learning and tinkering and perfecting.....or not, quite often)

I had great results with the chimney coil on the KF4 although I did nearly permanently retract a testicle trying to get a lung hit out of it all day every day, so it's mixed recommendation.

But on the other hand if a chimney coil attempt is another pointless pissing away of precious time on something that would probably not improve its performance that much, then I would begrudge having wasted any of my life on it because now I know what I'm doing I want to spend as little time as possible bunging new builds together for the craic, and yet I keep wasting brain power wondering.

What you reckon? I'm leaning towards thinking its a waste of my chuffing time.

Trying to visualise this. Would it be a single horizontal coil running between the posts, wrapped in cotton then with a little blanket of cotton laid over it to drape down to the juice feed holes?

I was thinking dual coils, the equivalent to a single running between the velocity style posts but whatever works like, and yes outer blanket stylee

I'd have to see a photo of that, difficult to visualize. I am by no means an expert, but the best build in my Aromamizer has been fused claptons, 2.5mm, 5 wrap vertical coils. Smooth flavor with very good cloud production.
