Asmodus Lustro Battery Indicator

[QUOTE="andi52, post: 2380041, member: 29305". My assumption is that the batteries cant reach the current required, for the resistance and power selected (whether on a vv or a vw mod), hence the chip in the mod is only concerned with whether the batteries can deliver the required current and whatever the voltage of the batteries is, it's not significant (to the mod/chip), it merely is, what it is.

Hence, rubbish batteries, old batteries, worn out batteries, will often cut off in a higher voltage range, say 3.50-3.65v (the current cant be delivered by the chip/ batteries) Whereas brand new, genuine, high quality batteries will cut off fair lower, as low as 3.14v (i've had that) but usually in the range of 3.20 -3.40v (the current can be delivered by the chip/ batteries).

I use this as a rough guide to assess the condition of my batteries - once they start cutting off a 3.6 Volts that's when mine go to the supermarket recycling bin.

Battery cuttoff problems?. buy a DNA chipped device and set the cuttoff at 2.75v. Job done batteries last longer. All my DNA's are set this way. All allow me to use the entire 100% of the battery charge should i need to without losing the power or damaging the batteries.
Anyone who says they can't afford one is a big fat fibber, i bet you spent more on smoking a month.
The problems as such with most other chips are they are not accurate enough or don't have the capacities to make them buck and boost power very well. The chip either cutts down the power, ie with fresh batteries, or boosts the power coming from the batteries to provide the power asked. As i mentioned you sort of get what you pay for in regards to the Chipset used.
