Aspire mulus nautilus dry feeling hits

When it starts to mildly dry hit, does it always happen every vape after that point? Or is it random and sporadic?

If it is random and sporadic, that would lead me to believe that it is gunk on the wire and not burning cotton. I get a similar experience from my rebuildables when they start to gunk up, random mild dry hits.

My experience was with the regular 0.7ohm coils, MTL at 15-17w in the Billet Box. Nice vape but coils only lasted a few days.

It's sporadic and it was a new coil two days ago which is rather weird if it's gunning up already

Have you used this juice before with other coils? I've got juices that can ruin a coil in about an hour, no joke.

For reference, with the 0.7ohm coils at around 15-17w, I'd get two days from a coil using IVG Neon Lime 20mg Salts.

Sorry for all the questions but it could be a number of things, it could even be a badly assembled coil where the cotton is not touching the wire all the way around.

Cotton will sag after some use, that's why you generally want it fairly tight when building your own coils, because it will sag after a little use. More noticeable on high wattage with RDA's.

The Nautilus coils are let down by poor assembly at the factory. I've taken enough duds apart to understand the problems. See those four juice holes? Well only two are actually juice holes the other two are blocked off by the inner sleeve. The two which should actually wick should be lined up with the corresponding two slots on the inner sleeve but often they are not. Result is they don't wick well if at all. They are pretty inconsistent. Shame really because they aint bad when they work well. The other main fault is too much material jammed in there.

You were right there is basicly just two out four wicking holes took the cotton out of the two non wicking ones and not a problem with it now can even chainvape with no hint of it getting dry and no leakage either a big thanks for the info just need to remember todo it again when changing coils

Got it all sorted now Gillette explained it in his post there are only realy two wicking holes the other two were seemingly not let it wick properly

There's no holes in the inner sleeve behind those two holes, just metal, so I'd be surprised if what you did could help any.

Pull one apart to get a better understanding of how they are built. Here's a vid showing the same.

The material he wraps around the inner sleeve at 13.20 works like a gasket to fill the gap between the inner and outer parts. That's what is visible in the two non wicking holes, but there is no access to the coil behind it, only metal.

Those wicking slots seen clearly at 13.07 need to be perfectly aligned with two of the wick holes in the outer part when it's assembled. That's the common mistake made at the factory. They are often off set.

All watch it later but I can definitely say no more dry felling hits since i took those two bits of cotton out and I can turn the wattage up higher than what I was using when it was happening and like I said I can chainvape if I want too with no probs either
