Bad throat hit

Hi, I'm pretty new to vaping I have the GeekVape Obelisk 200w & VooPoo H40.
I'm currently using the Obelisk.
I have a 0.4 coil in @ 54W and e liquid is vapegoo 70/30 (no nicotine)
Since starting I have been having light throat soreness mainly in the evenings.
I'm just wondering if the e liquid I'm using is the problem or should try using nic salts?
I just want some advice on what would help to stop the throat soreness in the evenings and have a much smoother hit

How long have you been vaping and how long have you been having symptoms?
It's normally the nic that gives the throat hit so if you're nic free that can be ruled out.

I've not used that kit or coil but it's best to take any suggested wattages with a pinch of salt.
I use 50-80w coils at 35-40w max. A must is prime first and start real low around 20w and take a couple of puffs then turn up 1watt at a time. You won't get much flave or cloud but the coil is still heating up and bedding in the cotton.

Back in the day when they started we called it vape poo as it was hit and miss and some were total shite. I guess they've grown over the years but as the saying goes you get what you pay for.
Not sure if link will work as typing on phone but for the 0.4 I wouldn't go over 40w.
Oh and don't even think about salts as you will get nice od within 10 mins at that wattage. Salts are much smoother on the throat but hit the bloodstream much quicker and best at 10-15w max and 50/vg50pg but if your using zero NIC then worth a go.

I've been on and off really for about 2 years, but properly started again about 2 weeks ago. It's like when I swallow in the evenings it just feels like I have a blocking sensation in my throat I hope that makes enough sense lol

I've brought the new Zeus tank I'm not using the normal Obelisk tank would I still be doing below 50W as this has really confused me now because the past week research and a local vape shop stated to be between 50-60W lol
Would you recommend changing to nic salts for a smoother hit on the throat or will zero nic also be good on the throat too?

Ive used 2 zeus tanks since release and they were my tank of the year back in 2023 but noticed in the last year that they are burning out/loosing taste much quicker lately. even changint to the new XM 0.15 coils which were much better and lasted longer than the original they have gone the same way lately so in last couple of weeks ive finally run out of z coils and theve joined the collecting dust tray.
even so for at least the last year ive never pushed the coils over 35-38watts.
last year i changed to the vaperesso itank which was my tank of 2024 but in the last couple of months bought 2 itankT which are even better top airflow tanks. so far better flavour and coils are lasting longer than the zeus.

i cant advise on salts as i cant stand them due to chain vaping all day and with salts you can only have a few puff if you use nic as it will cause headaches and nausia. but as previously mentiond if your using zero nic then its worth a try as they are smoother but the idea of salts is to make it smoother even though most people will be on much higher nicotine.

the bad throat hit could well be the naff juice or your just using the wattage too high and the coil is slowly burning out by the end of the day.
what flavours are you using, fruits or desserts. im continuosly using upto 50ml a day of custard which will clog the coil up quicker than most fruits.

Yeah I'd try a different juice manufacturer and a fresh coil and drop the wattage a bit. My mod wants me to vape at 65w but I've found 50w is more than enough

I'll try dropping the Watts down and see how that works!
I'd like to keep to no nic so will just stick to that then.
I'm using 70/30 pina calada flavour... I got given the juice which ain't too bad tbf!
I do like / prefer either creamy or sweet hit from a juice... Is there any brands you'd recommend?
I have not ordered / brought any yet as wanted to ask for recommendations on this page lol and will then get different types to see which is more suited to me

I'd definitely drop the wattage in the 40's and see how it works. As far as juice options I'm not sure as I DIY my liquids so I'm out of touch with flavour brands but someone should be along soon with recommendations
