Bastos wick

if you make the wick a wee bit smaller it will not catch mate, the rocket has a 2.5mm wick hole and I make the wick around 1.5mm mate, use the drill bit method, if you wick hole is say 3mm grab a 2mm drill bit and make your coil first, pulse that a bit to stiffen it up then make your wick so it just fits in the coil. I know that sounds easy but once its done a few times you will know the exact size of mesh to cut as well mate. As a guide I would say a 2 mm coil go with 20mm width mesh

ill give this a bash cheers :)

Watched a vid on youtube doing this way an did wonder will give it a go as 20mm is a bit less than I was using

Carlos tried mesh/coil your way on a DID, bit of fettling the coils when I inserted wick but going like a champ, done the same on cobra, same results, so thank you its give me confidence to carry on with mesh. I think my Big mistake was winding the coil on the wick and giving tight spots which arced out in use?
