The evidence provided by BAT to the MHRA, via the CHMEWG is nowhere negative towards e-cigs.
BATs research was far more detailed but pointed in the same direction as that provided by ECITA. The research from BAT and ECITA did not contradict one another.
Therefore it is as accurate to state that ECITA are responsible for the MHRAs opinion that ‘our research has shown that existing electronic cigarettes and other nicotine containing products on the market are not good enough...’ as it is to credit BAT for providing the research to reach such a conclusion.
The opinion ‘… are not good enough‘ was not articulated by BAT or ECITA, nor does their research evidence to the CHMEWG back that opinion up. Such an opinion is subjective and does not even form part of the CHMEWG’s conclusions, though it is possible to see a closer correlation there.

Interesting.
