So I am building my own mech mod and am going to be running 2 18650's but the problem am having is what is the difference between running them in series running them in parallel?

Cheers Guys!

Connecting in Series
When connecting your batteries in Series you are doubling the voltage while maintaining the same capacity rating (amp hours). Just use a jumper wire between the negative of the first battery and the positive of the second battery. Run your negative wire off of the open connector from the first battery and your positive off of the open connector on your second battery.

Connecting in Parallel
When connecting in Parallel you are doubling the capacity (amp hours) of the battery while maintaining the voltage of one of the individual batteries. Use a jumper wire between the positives of both batteries and another jumper wire between the negatives of both batteries. Connect your positive and negative wires to the same battery to run to your application.

Important notes: When connecting batteries in a pack there are some important things to keep in mind. Find out the requirements of your application. For example: Don't use two different chemistries when connecting a pack. Usually the voltages will be different, but more importantly the charge rates will be different and the capacities may be different, thus resulting in a shortened life span. When connecting batteries in a pack you should Match the capacities to avoid discharging one battery quicker than another. A pack operates at a combined voltage so your one cell that discharges quicker will likely discharge deeper than it may be able to recover from.

If the batteries are say 1200mAh:
Parallel: 4.2v 2400mAh
Series: 8.4v 1200mAh

You'd better have some big coils and a juicey dripper with big BIG airholes to run the later.

Right so running them is series gives me double the voltage with the same capacity as one battery where as running in parallel gives the same voltage with double the capacity.
Sound that is petty simple now you guys have explained it.
Cheers :)

No worries. I just built an 8.4v device and I've got to say, its very powerful. Probably too powerful. I've had to order a 22mm dripper for a quad coil to try and tame the beast. I'm not sure if it will ever be a good vape but it is fun trying. Best of luck and don't forget to show us your creation.
