Battery charge times?

When using my nitecore i2 charger which charges at 500mA, it takes about 2hrs to fully charge an 18350 (torchy) and about 4hrs for an 18650.
Thats from about 3.4V according to me SVD (eg red indicator on SVD) back to 4.2V
So me thinks you may need a better charger :S

The 18650 came with the svd.
just got a 18350 off the charger, light was green, its reading 4.2. that's taken about 5 hours to charge! Ill get a new charger has to be better than this one!

I have the Efest LUC (LCD Universal Charger) that switches automatically from 0.5A - 1.0A depending on the battery. It charges to 4.2V from 3.4V in around 2hrs

thanks everyone, at least at 4.2v i know its fully charged! but now will have to vape less to make it last longer, shit!

You do indeed need a new charger, Get an Xtar, Nitecore or if you have the moolah the efest luc4...

I don't believe that for a second, and definitely wouldn't recommend it with lithium ion batteries.

Only setting is 3.6 and 3.0, read somewhere to set it at 3.6. Maybe not getting the full charge then? I take them out as soon as the light turns green.

I have been using the trustfire tr001 to charge my 18500 batteries. Got those from torchy. With the switch set at 3.6 ,one battery takes about 9 hours to fully charge. I believe the batteries are good but the charger is so slow & when you're not meant to leave them unattended 9 hours is bugging me. I ordered some more batteries tonight, again from torchy via his ebay shop & a new charger... The Efest LUC http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Efest-LUC...d_Vision_Battery_Chargers&hash=item43c46e4882

Hoping that i will get better results & shorter charge times. I always thought that a slower charge time was mostly a good thing for the battery life but the 9 hour thing... Life's too short.

Does the Trustfire have a 4.2 setting? That's the voltage that you'd expect for and 18*** battery

The trustfire is a charger, it won't have a voltage setting. 4.2 is the voltage of a fully charged battery which is when any charger should stop or almost stop charging.

My only charger is a Nitecore i4 which is of course automatic, wasn't sure what other chargers have, other than some of them having a switch to set the charge current.
