Is it safe to leave batteries charging unattended, I have been charging mine over night while I sleep. I thought I read something somewhere that batteries should not be left unattended when charging.

I just want to see what the general thoughts are on this as I have 3 kids in the house.

I wouldn't leave unattended but that is my personnel view as no safety cut off built in, would suggest you contact the vendor and seek manufacturers recommendations and do not leave on charge unattended until clarified, quick look on the net states not to leave on charge unattended

I would suggest getting an XTar charger if you are leaving batteries to charge unattended, this is due to the protection circuits built into the unit, any other types should always be attended, this includes trustfire chargers that can get..well lets say interesting as to outputs and safety.

Xtars can be found here CLICKY

There are different types (I use the WP6) :)

I use bigger battery mods so I have higher MAH batteries on a wall plug charger, I admit I leave them on overnight, but I also have an "intelligent" charger which does not trickle overcharge.

These batteries are just as safe if not safer than the standard AA AAA and other rechargeables you use in your TV remotes, Mobile Phones, Laptops ect.

As for the USB charger, best not to leave that on over night due to power surges through your PC that could short out the USB and cause an issue.

I leave mine on the hob, that way if they do overheat they will leave a sticky mess on the hob and blow a fuse, not burn me and the house down. simples.
