Is it possable to get a battery pack that just works with rechargable AA's ?

I'm sure there is...I've yet to see one though as regular ole double a batteries dont have enough output..1.2v I think.

There is a box mod called "The Puck" - have alook here. I personally wouldn't bother with the LED, and just build it as a battery mod. You can get the bits and pieces from Rob at Stealthvape or Mark at Warlords Mods.

EDIT: I've just looked at the first tutorial - they use a weird connector - just go for a standard 510 in its place! :encouragement:

The problem with AAs or AAAs is the wattage they can generate Watts = Volts x Amps, and AA's and AAAs are much lower voltage than 14500s or 18650s etc.

This Puck jobbie seems to have a load of AAA's in - and now my interest is tweeked, guess what I'm going to have a go at building this week? :highly_amused:

Before anybody told me you couldn't do it, I built a standard boxmod with parts from Maplin that was a 4.8v AAA. All you need is to be able to build a basic circuit with an inline momentary switch in the +ve and a killswitch in the -ve. The hard bit is soldering in a 510 connector, but there are loads of guides online for that. You should always use rechargeable batteries as these are protected, and also have the bonus that generally an individual battery comes in at 1.2v, not the claimed 1.5, so using 4 in series will give 4.8v instead of 6. I should add that I don't have a clue if this is deemed as "safe" or not, I can only tell you that I use it as a spare and it hasn't killed me yet!

I've loaded 4 AA rechargables into a holder and just applying the wires to a knackered carto produced very good results M'Lord - so 10/10 to you - the project will go ahead! :encouragement: I also checked the voltage on my batteries - and guess what? What I have always believed to be a 1.5V battery is actually labelled as 1.2V - God Bless Lidl!

There are also quite a few YouTube videos of mods powered by "ordinary" rechargeable batteries if anyone is interested - I searched for "Puck e-cig" and quite a few came up.

No no no no no. I am slowly progressing with my tin building and my other DIY projects - lack of time has got in the way along with lots of ovetime 12 hour shifts. I am going to resist.

Because I was foolish enough to buy some cheap 18650s of Flea Bay, which won't handle high discharge I bought an 18650 torch for £4.10p (EBay item number 300722465096 - and I thoroughly recommend them - well made and a brilliant price and I have bought more of them) so having got a better torch, my big stack of 1.2v AAs are redundant except for a few I use in remotes.

Nope, no no no I am going, for the moment to resit the urge to add these to the build list.

Wow. So I was a bit squiffy when I wrote that little guide to building a tin mod last night. Imagine my amazement when I just reread it at two things...1} For someone who had too much to drink, it's quite coherent. 2} Look who I was telling how to build a basic circuit! Sorry Lee from Ethelking, I don't mean to teach you to suck eggs lol. I will post a pic of it though, just because.
