I'm ordering a Derringer RDA from Fast Tech which will be my first ever rebuildable, they have pre made coils as well, they are rated for example 0.6 Ohms but if use them in a dual could set up will the resistant still be 0.6 or does it change? I.e half or double.

Link to the coils https://m.fasttech.com/products/303...oiled-wires-for-rebuildable-atomizers-50-pack

Also is a Derringer a good beginner RDA or are there any better suggestions?

The resistance will half. Why dont you just build you own? Then you can adjust the ohms to what you want? Also you need to consider the capabilities of your device and batteries. What mod ate you using?

Yup. It'll half the resistance. I wouldn't really recommend jumping straight into .3ohm setups, but as long as you do a bit of research before hand then you'll be fine. Get yourself some decent batteries. Samsung 25R (9.99 inc P&P)

You can always add more wraps to the pre-made coils, depending on the leg length they have left you with. Great choice of RDA too. You may find it a tad fiddly at first due to the size, but it's a walk in the park once you get your first coil done.

That's exactly what I wanted to know I almost bought 50 0.6 ohm coils and something told me I should check first. I will get some kanthal too and try building my own what's the best 'AWG' to get? (I'm guessing this is the thickness of the wire?) I'm looking to make 0.5 ohms in dual coil.

I'm using a Cool Fire IV which is 40W with a built in battery and an Aspire Atlantis which is 0.5 ohm

I was looking for 0.5 ohm so I would go for a pack of 1.0 ohm pre made coils thanks for the advice

I mostly use 28 gauge (0.32). 5 wraps on a 2.5 mm drill bit should get you 0.5 on a dusl coil. Why are you set on 0.5 ohms. I dual coil my derring at around 1 ohm.

yup dual 1 ohm coils will leave you around .5 ohms. If you haven't already, then pick yourself up a ohms reader too. Just to check the ohms and make sure there's no shorts, before putting it on your mod.

I'll go for that then and I've just ordered 10 pre made coils to start me off as well. I'm not set on 0.5 I'm just sticking to what I know from my Atlantis really, I'm sure I'll mess around with different ohms building my own

I didn't look at an ohms reader I didn't think it would be necessary as the mod I'm using already reads the ohms to 2 decimal places?

Also which kind of cotton is best or easier to use the square pads or the cotton balls?

It's very necessary. Anything can go wrong with the on board chip of a mod, for the sake of a few pounds for your safety. plus them 2 decimal places could mean a lot when sub-ohming.

I use Muji, some use Koh Gen Do, either one of them are miles better then standard organic cotton. Organic cotton is by far easier to wick, but once you get used to the certain width and length you cut from the pad, you'll have no trouble at all.
