Exactly, I don't know much about explosives, but can a load of fireworks really cause a blast with a shock wave such as that? I mean it flipped cars over that were miles away.

Unless there was something else in the hangar that contributed to it. For reference, here's a video of a bomb with 8000kg of explosive.
