Hi guys,

Using the 0.2 coil, got it set to smart variable. Just wondering, the V is on 30w is that something which sets automatically?

Also fully open airflow, I find too much, I am using past halfway seems to be the best fit for me so far. I know it varies person to person, 30w, past halfway, is that a good starting point? The guy in the shop set it to 40 but I like the smart idea to start with as I am new to this.

Any suggestions welcome, and again, it varies, I know! Blessings from London UK

Hi Garry
ive not got that kit but do have plenty of other vaporesso kits and a couple with the smart setting which i did try but dont use anymore.
problem with that setting is it will set between the pre set margins but with a new coil its best to start even lower.
for example, my main wattage is around the 50watt mark. with a new coil it needs priming and bedding in. so with the 0.2 (which i use in the i tank) the recommended wattage is 60-75w and best at 70w but i use mine at 50w. so i start at 25w where you wont get much cloud or flavour but the coil is still heating up and bedding it in. turning up a couple of watt each puff builds up to your sweet spot and actually helps prolong the life of the coil instaed of going straight in at much higher wattage as set by the smart setting and if your juice has not drenched all the cotton it could give the odd dry hit, and trust me you will know when youve had one of them which you will never want again :)

another thing with single battery mods is they will drain very quickly. the only single battery mod was way back with the istick60 watt. a fully charged 3000mah battery would last me 1 hour 10 minutes and it was drained. that was at 45w.
thats why i only buy twin battery mods taking 2 18650 or 2 21700

edit

i forgot to ask, is your tank a 2ml or did you get the larger bubble glass for it. if not changing the glass to an 8ml will save filling it up too often. £2.99 for 8ml here https://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/itank-replacement-glass

What gives the best performance/flavour is 100% personal opinion.

If you get the vape you like at 30 Watts with the airflow half open then stick with it.

The only thing to be careful of is not to increase the power above the recommended wattage range of the coil and the higher wattage you vape at, generally the shorter the life of the coil.

Hmmm...

That's helpful.

A few things, I didn't set it up, the guy did, I assume he primed it ok but I was busy chatting to the road sweeper next to him who seemed to be very knowledgeable.

It was set to 40 w in the shop, but I went for the smart settings. Reason being, the stress of setting up vapes has driven me to want to smoke more cigars. My Innokin t22 Pro just died after less than 2 months (overcharging) and that only had 4 settings on it.

I had a couple of Smok which you could adjust the wattage, but could never settle on the right one. Currently on my Gen 80 s its 30w 3 quarter airflow, if I adjust the airflow its too much. I tried with 40 w, seemed ok in the shop but its hard to know as I am new to this one. Went back to 40 w and it was too much no matter what the airflow. I really don't know. Its a lot of trial and error, but I don't want to stress anymore. I want to enjoy!.

I will consider upgrading the tank, this will do for the time being, as I work I don't use it all the time. And atm I am even scared to use it in case i damage it, so I am taking it slow, looking at forums, not going too far into changin the settings etc

The Gen 80S is a great little mod, we did a community review which you can read here.

It's been a while since I used the 80S, but as far as the modes go, I thought there were only 3 modes (taken from the review).

Wattage, plain old wattage mode, the bread and butter of every mod available.
Pulse, in Vaporesso’s words, boosts power every 0.02 seconds to bring a consistent vape.
F(t) mode, provides precise heating rate control, but in a non-TC way.

As far as I remember, none of these modes set the wattage based on the coil, it will just set to whatever the last wattage setting was.

For the 0.2 coil, for me the best setting was around 40W. If that is too much for you, stay at the 30 if that is working. As has been pointed out, it's completely a personal preference that you will have to find through adjusting the wattage to find your sweet spot.

Good luck, the 80S and iTank are both very good so you should get on with them.

i was guessing smart variable was like the older PM80 which uses the gtx coils and it sets it automatically between the wattage range. ignore what i said above then :D

Ha its fine I really don't know

Anyway I went up to 40 and adjusted the airflow and I think its ok. And about the tanks, 2 in the box so I don't know if one is the bubble

Straight on the left, bubble on the right.

thanks to the TPD law if you bought in the uk then it will have the 2ml straight glass. the bubble glass has to be bought seperatly.
if you bought from china or america then they dont have the 2ml max limit so will come with the larger 8ml tank.
