We have all seen over the last year or so the wholesale purchase of 'ecig' companies by which I mean lookalikes. And we all know why that is.

However this latest report suggests what many of us knew already, that Vapers are turning to so called 'open systems' I.e refillable tanks, generation 2 devices and mods in droves for all the advantages they give.

It it is no small wonder that the Tobacco companies have been lobbying so vociferously against open systems saying they carry risks of contamination, explosive batteries and eliquid poisoning etc

I have to say I can't remember the last time I saw someone using a cigalikes. Most people I see about are using egos at the very least.

I remember it was about 14-15months ago, it was a golden sunny day outside the old Abandoned asylum in Newark, Nottinghamshire...

Just before one of us fell through the floor xD

Absolutely agreed. When I first started vaping, it was with Skycigs - after buying 3 recharging boxes and using 3 or 4 cartidges a day, I realised that I was not saving any money at all - if anything, spending more. Plus is was annoying charging 3 boxes each night! I was doing a lot of driving, so vaping all day. I went straight for a Provari and have never looked back at the cigalikes - except of course with a reasonable amount of pity for who I was then  I guess we all have to start somewhere! And of course by driving I mean driving pigs around town as I was a pig merchant back in the day before all of my adventures :grin2:

As a fully registered Anecdotalist I can confirm that cig-a-likes are a gateway to vaping. Green Smoke was my method of choice.

I was a massive E-lites user, 3-4 refills a day ... cost way more than smoking 10-15 fags a day but the cost wasn't the issue. They got me off the fags, I smelt normal, I could wisp (rather than vape) away in the office to my heart's content.
Generation 1 has had its day.
