What's new

calling all pharmacists - can we vape cocoa extract?

Nice work! But dude, if you do create a realistic chocolate, it'll be like the baldness cure of the vaping world. Never been done before!

Thing is, a chocolate aroma is surely doable. There are lots of chocolate scented things in the world. Doesn't have to 'feel' like we're eating it, just retain the smell on the inhale/exhale.

Yea, I dont have high hopes, I bet 10s of doctorate chemists have been at this for 30 years.
So Lets just say I expect to get a nasty bitter flat flavour.
But the experiment will answer what happens when you do a straight up chocolate extract.

If I grow more hair that wouldn't be too bad either :-D

Fun link to read if you are into blending aromas

http://www.acs.org/content/acs/en/p...-really-in-that-luscious-chocolate-aroma.html

— The mouth-watering aroma of roasted cocoa beans — key ingredient for chocolate — emerges from substances that individually smell like potato chips, cooked meat, peaches, raw beef fat, cooked cabbage, human sweat, earth, cucumber, honey and an improbable palate of other distinctly un-cocoa-like aromas.

Lots of vape friendly flavour manufacturers are changing from PG based flavour carrier/base to alcohol flavour bases. This is getting more and more common so I would not be put off by that. Agree with KMS, you need to have a look at a few threads around forums and on internet to research if the cocoa extract is actually safe to vape. I know that lots are now vaping vanilla powder, mixed with pg etc
