Candy blue 18659 series build!

The beginning

Starting on the candy blue tonight, just painted the interior of the box and got the switch and 510 fitted. Also shaved down the sled and drilled the magnet holes.

Going to get busy soldering tonight and hopefully get it all working ok.

Need to order some more door magnets though.
Also want to try and get hold of a 0.28 voltmeter for inside the box! If anyone knows where I can get them I would be super happy (have some in order from eBay didn't realise they were from China!)

Feeling just a little bit proud of myself!

Tidiest build yet, so chuffed with it!

Just have to epoxy the sled in place, and the magnets (when they arrive) and if I can find a 0.28" voltmeter 2 wire in the UK get that hooked up

Looks real nice matey, you've made a nice neat job of it. My favourite colour as well, reminds me of a slightly lighter escort cosworth blue . Just about to start one myself, not sure what road I want to go down yet though, squonk/temp control, decisions decisions lol. I've got a lovely piece of cherry to do it but that's as far as I've got

It's a 10a chip that lets you go (safely) up to 60w but seen it pushed higher.

looking good mate tidy looking build barely see the black wire, like the blue, since its so close to the ford blue you need a white stripe or 2

Looks good. Tidier than the box I currently have sitting beside me here at work. Personally, I can't get on with FDV or Varitube 510s. The fact that I use a 2.5mm² wire for current carrying means that it doesn't fit in the pin.
