This one is likely to inspire a bit of rage in the average electronic cigarette community member.
The CDC is launching a casting call for its next set of anti-tobacco TV spots. Its primary target: e-cigs.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is offering $2,500 plus travel expenses to ex-smokers that were diagnosed with a serious health condition after cutting back on smoking with the aid of electronic cigarettes. The effort is clearly meant to find individuals that can serve as proof that transitioning to electronic cigarettes is not as helpful as some might suggest.
There’s not much more we plan on saying here. You can see the flyer right here.
As well, you can check out a letter on the casting call right here.

People who smoked, can get diagnosed with all sorts of ailments, illnesses, diseases, months and YEARS later after cutting back or quitting smoking using ANY fecking method. Or did the worlds health officials forget that Lung Cancer just doesnt happen over night?

Why are they "particularly looking for candidates who are of Asian descent"?

I guess this organization stands to lose something ! Or i don't get it. We already know about the dangers of smoking.

Yet more proof, that they are seriously clutching at straws to find something that can stigmatize vaping, and unfortunately it only takes one person to be diagnosed with an underlying health problem that only becomes evident after quitting smoking.
I also entirely disagree with the whole anti tobacco thing, tobacco plants can be used as a means of nicotine extraction, so can aubergines.

Thrush is a fungal infection, mushroom is a fungus, lets ban mushrooms, also would be beneficial to everyone as certain types of fungus can used as a drug for the hallucinogenic properties!
I am sick of so much that is wrong with humanity these days, everyone is overly sensitive and scared of offending someone or something and ending up with a lawsuit.

Fuck everything, i haven't spent 22 years of my life defending the rights of UK citizens and the freedom of people, to be told by the EU or our 'Government' that i can't vape just in case i might possibly at some time in the future, potentially have a cold that might surface and cause me to maybe feel a bit under the weather and i would then possibly like to sue someone for not taking 200 years to find out i might get a cold at the age of 85.
(slight attempt at wordy humour and government speak for not answering a direct question)

I would love to meet some of these people in the flesh and actaully talk to them about what they are doing, 'what do you mean smokers are giving up without the use of tobacco or NRT? how very dare they!! it must be some form of witchcraft so we must do all that we can to ban it, before more people give up and live better and longer lives!'

It is all about common sense and making a choice, and my choice is to do what makes me happy, police won't stop someone smoking a spliff, therefore they can fuck off with vaping, stop the planet, i want off!

The whole of the anti-smoking racket (and it is a racket) stands to loose huge amounts of both funding and prestige due to the rise of vaping. This includes big pharma, and the legions in the "Public Health" industry.

They are quite frankly terrified, and their colours are really showing now. It is clear that it is nothing to do with health.

I still don't get it ! They're screwed either way.
Lets say that tobacco is bad ! OK there's no getting away from that & there's no way on earth it can ever be redeemed.
So those who stand to lose out to ecigs then because of tobacco & pharmaceutical profits plummeting have an opportunity. If they say that ecigs are bad or if they subscribe to the anti campaigns in order to protect their industries as they are now then they will go on record declaring ecigs are harmful for the public & will discredit the product thereby rendering it a poor future investment for themselves. Shoots self in foot !

If they say they want to take the industry for themselves & sell ecigs, say that they are a good way to give up smoking & if they reinforce the whole product & industry, then by their own admission, ecigs pose no significant threat to health & are fit for marketing in the public domain.

Tobacco is screwed for future mainstream marketing, it just is & it will die out to a small simmering market eventually & who knows how long it's going to take.

Those billionaires from the industries & big corporations, do they want to see their legacy come to an end ?

vaporsizer The Tobacco Control Industry has done more to promote smoking in the last 20 years with their constant badgering and nannying than Big Tobacco ever managed. Tobacco wouldn't need to advertise anyway, the TCI does it all for them.

The last thing they actually want is for everyone to stop smoking as they would be out of all of their highly paid jobs. Unless the slippery slope extends to alcohol/sugar/fatty foods. Oh I forgot, they are already there as well.
