charging 18650 18350 batteries safety

you have a good charger there, on thing to do is charge the same size batterys at same time, its recommended to use bay 1and 3 and 2 and 4
ie your 18350's in bays 1 and 3 and the 18650's in bays 2 and 4

Why not exactly?

I've used ultrafires/trustfires in the past and had zero issues with them.

Because they are wildly inconsistent. It's perfectly possible to buy UF/TF wrappers and stick them on laptop pack pulls. This does quite often happen.

Mostly they're not that great - though some like the Trustfire Flame ones were good till the fakes outnumbered the decent ones. And you won't know which you've got without test gear. I have some fake TF Flames - they are junk - about 800mAh capacity rather than the 2400 it says on the wrapper.

They may, or may not be, OK in a hand-held device but not something you are sticking in your face. Especially as the current draw from some devices can be very, very high.

Batteries don't often go kaboom - but you don't want to be holding one up to your face if it does.

The same could be said of any brand of batteries... how many 'fake' AW batteries are there floating about?

The important thing is to try and get batteries from a reputable supplier, not brand snobbery imho.

I would have said the same once. And IMO AW cells are rather expensive for what you get.

So you're saying that not all *****fire batteries are junk then? and you agree that sourcing a reputable supplier is more important than judging a whole group as something to avoid?

Or do you think that buying any other particular brand regardless of the vendor will offer more protection against fakes than buying *****fires from a reputable supplier?

Not quite. If you can find a ?Fire dealer who can entirely trust their quite possibly not short supply chain then fine. But I doubt one can.

Also try finding out who Trust/Ultra/Spider/Uranus/whatever elseFire actually are. And do they make the cells or rebadge them? I suspect the latter. But who actually made them? There are plenty of good Chinese cells out there, but try finding out who made them and just try getting the next lot from the same manufacturer. So it's not about suppliers though reputable is better than no-name pop-up outfit.

Any lithium ion cell/battery had better come from a reputable supplier regardless of the label on it. This is complicated by the large manufacturers not being interested in selling cells to individuals - probably for fear of product liability suits.

So basically, there's no guarantees whatever brand you buy... *****fire or otherwise.

That is not what I said. Not even close. I stand by my original assertion. And hope you never find out whey i made it.

But as far as I'm concerned this has gone far enough. and I'm n o longer prepared to discuss it.

You're correct, it's not what you said.. it's what I said.

You're entitled to your viewpoint.. as am I.

My viewpoint is that a 'badge' is no guarantee of a battery's origin or efficacy and making statements like "don't buy batteries with "fire" in their name" is misguided.

Just because you may not have had such a good experience with a *****fire, it doesn't mean ALL of them out there are bad.

I'd say don't be afraid to buy batteries with "fire" in their name, just try to buy from reputable suppliers and treat them with the same respect and caution that ANY and ALL Lithium-ions should be.
