Just ordered a "fat daddy vape 510" for the cloupor as I've had a few connection issues with a subtank mini (though my kayfun works fine). Anyone fitted the same? Any advise? It's my first attempt and fingers crossed it'll be the icing on the top! of a great mod.

@tobywonkanobi is right but i used a 14mm varitube as the fdv may be too big and may end up hitting the board as the centre pin comes down when you put a tank on it when i done mine i had about 1-2mm between the board and the centre pin i do have the fdv in my box mods i made and when you put a tank on you can see the centre pin come down here is a pic of the fdv and the varitube does`nt move when a tank is put on also ask amos on here i got my info from him

yellow heatshrink tank not screwed on all the way

Thanks stuartd, I looked at the dimensions of the fdv and without dismantling the cloupor and seeing the board I guesstimated it might fit! I'll have a proper look when it arrives, if it's no good I'll get the varitube and try the fdv on my sigelei if it breaks or I feel inclined to fit it anyway :) was it fairly painless to fit the varitube?

Ya may want to take a look at the new stealthvape v2 510. Not in stock yet, but will be soon. I'm drooling over these as I've got a couple of FDV v4 low profiles for testing but I really don't like the fact that the positive connection moves. The Stealthvape v2 510 should only protrude about 8mm into the box..

Basicly unsolder the red battery wire on the battery tray then take the cover of hiding the chip then at the bottom you will see some hot glue at the bottom of the board take that out and you should be able to lift the board out abit then unsolder the 510 red wire from the board and lift the board our of the way dint worry about the neg wire but you can unsolder that on the batt tray only to remove the board completely then its time to remove the old 510 I just pushed it in from the top mine was knackered it may go up the way better though then I used a rc body reamer to make the hole the size I needed it tobe then take the new 510 apart then solder the 510 wire onto it then put the 510 through the hole then just go in reverse of hiw you took it apart

did you manage to flush mount/ countersink the varitube 510?

iv got a couple of varitube and fdv 510s and want to flush mount one in my cloupor mini, just wondered if you have and if so, how?

when I do mine I will post some pics and how to

from what i`ve seen you can`t flush mount the fdv or varitube like i have on mine. the only one you could get close to flush would be a 510 roughly the same as the one that is fitted already if you do get it flush i would like to see some pics of how it looks as iam thinking i may do my other cloupor mini soon no use waiting till it breaks i guess.

this is how mine looks right now

Thanks for the photo.
iv bought a 15mm countersink drill bit on eBay for the job (hopefully)
im thinking the 1mm will give me some room to play and will prob end up 2mm

the tricky bits will be:

1. Not drilling too deep so the 510 doesn't sit too deep in the body/ so I don't go through the body and cock the entire thing up
2. Drilling it straight- no one likes a wonky tip :p

I also had connection issues with my Cloupor and Subtank. Local shop swapped it for a new one but by the sounds of it I should expect it to fail again. I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread as no doubt I'll be following suit sometime soon.
