Hi guys,
this will prob sound like a daft question but how do you know when your coil needs replacing?
ive been vaping for only a few days and as of yet I've had no problems but I realise that sooner rather than later my coil will need replacing.
Does the coil just stop suddenly or do you notice a difference in performance before it packs in?
I use a v3 with a replaceable coil system and wondered if I should be carrying a spare coil when I'm out n about?
Or would I know the coil was due to go but last til I got home?
Any advice would be appreciated. :)

When it loses flavour and vapour, its probably gunked up and either needs a dry burn or replacing.

Replacing I can manage but I've no idea what a dry burn is?
Is it the norm to carry a spare with you just in case?

No need to carry a spare, but just for confidence sake, it's no harm to start of with a fresh coil if you are going to be out all day. Your confidence in your gear will increase with your vaping and soon enough, you won't even pause to think 'will it last me the day or not" you'll just trust your own experience, judgement, and equipment. As for knowing when to replace, coils are pretty well trained to let their owners know by deciding to act like a bit of burning dishcloth. A wash and dry burn can sometimes extend their life before replacement. Dry Burning is part of the cleaning process. Give your coils a good rinse under hot water (removed from your device of course!) blot dry or allow to air dry, then put back into place on the tank base and screw onto your battery (without putting the tank on and filling with juice) power your battery in 2 - 3 second bursts until you se the coils glowing a nice red. Away you go and use as normal, the 'dry burning' is just burning away any carbon/gunk/residue left after washing. If this process sounds confusing, which it more than likely does, just google 'dry burn youtube' and a ton of explanatory videos will show up.

your coil will deteriorate and need cleaned and dry burned you can find lots of videos on you tube on how to do this eventually it will wear out the wick at which point you'll probably get a burnt taste and can either rewick it or put a new one in - youtube is your friend

Fantastic explanation, i'd been wondering this myself today. Been lacking in vapour and alot less tasty all day, been using the same coil without a clean for bout 5 days now.

Cheers :D
