Do you rewick your coils? I've never got a nice flavour after a water clean and new cotton. It always tastes weird and muted. Not sure if it's because I use Kanthal. I've just given up on the whole thing and opt for a whole coil replacement when things are a bit gunky. Then again I always make my own so I'm not trying to get extra life out of something £$£. Just wondering what everyone else does?

My ocd won't allow a simple re wick.

Step 1, dry fire low wattage as I'm removing the old wick.

Step 2, put coil rod back in to keep it steady while I brush lightly with a wet stainless steel wire brush.

Step 3, clean the inside of the coil with a nylon pipe brush.

Step 4, rinse if I'm feeling lazy or ultrasonic if it needs it.

Step 5, dry with either a hairdryer or offcuts of cotton from previous wicks

Step 6, wick.... regret being so pedantic.

It sounds like a lot of work and it really can be sometimes but I've had complex coils last multiple years using this method and even round wire will last a few months before it starts to get weird on me.

Old cotton out. Dry burn and scrape with ceramic tweezers. New cotton in. Vape. I probably rewick after about 60ml. I only change the coils when they are beyond cleaning. Maybe after about half a dozen or so rewicks.
