Coil Rewicking

I mostly use ni80 but I do the same method for ka1 and ss316 too

if it's an rta then i'll finish off the juice what's left in the tank unless i don't like the muted taste then i'll just rewick as it with warming the coil and sweeping off the shite on it with wet paper towel works wonders :P
wet the coil (+the entire tank in the process and clean chimney out)
if it's rda type of tank (brunhilde atm) if the taste is crap i'll swap the coil out :)

Dry burn, wire brush, dry burn dowsed coil in cold water. Re wick and go. I use SS316 and Ni80. With SS I’ve had coils last 12 months. Ni80 last a few months. As for Kanthal , I rarely use it, but about 2 weeks, would be my guess.

I’ve not noticed the flavour is muted. Maybe the break in of new cotton in a used coil?

A simple clean with a toothbrush and some soapy water should generally be enough for a round wire coil, but be sure to properly dry the tank before re-wicking it though. I've lost count of the number of times I've ruined cotton by being hasty and trying to re-wick it damp and matted. Lessons learned.

Oh man, I hear that.:17:

My ocd won't allow a simple re wick.

Step 1, dry fire low wattage as I'm removing the old wick.

Step 2, put coil rod back in to keep it steady while I brush lightly with a wet stainless steel wire brush.

Step 3, clean the inside of the coil with a nylon pipe brush.

Step 4, rinse if I'm feeling lazy or ultrasonic if it needs it.

Step 5, dry with either a hairdryer or offcuts of cotton from previous wicks

Step 6, wick.... regret being so pedantic.

It sounds like a lot of work and it really can be sometimes but I've had complex coils last multiple years using this method and even round wire will last a few months before it starts to get weird on me.

lol, how long does it take you to go to bed at night,

Step 1, feel sleepy
Step 2, confirm feels sleepy
Step 3, walk upstairs
Step 4, take off socks
Step 5 fold socks
Step 6,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Final step close eyes
Final final step check eyes closed :)

TBF I have an issue whenever I go down or up stairs I count them, even my own stairs and I know how many there are, don't know why just something I have always done.

Borderline insomniac here too.
If I get sleep it's irratic, unplanned and a total waste of valuable time.

I used to think ocd was not that bad till I got diagnosed and then a bunch of what I thought was just my own personal brand of weirdness began to make a lot of sense in a bad way lol.

I used to think it was normal to wipe the crumbs off a biscuit exactly 3 times and tap it twice before dipping it in my coffee.

But nope apparently I'm a nutter :bliss:
