Not really a new user buuuut I'm having real trouble Coiling at the mo. Whatever I do they always seem to come out at 3 or 3.5 ohms with 5 turns round a Diddy screwdriver. They are going in protanks on my svd so it's not the end of the world, but as I've got a kfl and a Chi you on the slow boat from China I really want to get them down a bit. Using . 2 kanthal and cotton. Any advice would be great

do less turns job done ...

.2 wire i onlydo 3 or 4 wraps never more than for

i take it your trying to make a micro coil try a bigger kanthal like .25 or even .3 with about 8 t0 10 wraps

I've recoiled my mini protank2 - bare in mind that there is a bit of a stem that has to go down into the head to make the pos/neg connections, so this length is increasing your resistance. I'm not sure, but I guess the genuine heads use no-resistance to resistance wire to minimize this.

With .2 kanthal I always do a 3/2 wrap round my wicks.

Ahhhh I didn't think about that. Thanks pabs. I do know that the genuine ones do use res/non res wire to stop the grommet from getting to hot

And just to add, with the kayfun and the fogger I do a 4/3 wrap.

4/5 wraps of .2 kanthal on a 1.5mm drill bit gives me a consistent 1.8 ohms for my protanks.
