Coils Burning Out

Hey, I use a Voopoo Mojo, Uforce tank and the coils are N1’s. Please help as I’m going wrong somewhere. I’m priming the coils, letting them sit in a full tank for a couple of hours.

I start off real low at 15 watts and gradually increase power after every 3 or 4 puffs. As soon as I get to 55 or 60 watts, the coils are burning out. I’m chain vaping whilst breaking the coil in. Is this where I’m going wrong? Do I need to break them in very slowly?

Welcome to the forum!

I used to have that tank and found the coils didn't last long at all, especially when vaping sweet liquids.

I believe the Freemax Fireluke coils are compatible and are a bit better.

Hi @BIGFOOT1987 and welcome to the planet.

what juice are you using and what vg/pg
high sweetner juice also can clog coils up real quick.
where did you buy the coils from as there are fakes of every make out there.
if your using 80vg or above then there is the problem. chain vaping doesnt help either as some coils struggle to soak up the juice quick enough compared to the amount you are chugging on the vape.
i dont know this tank but a quick google shows https://www.vapestore.co.uk/uforce-n1-0-13-ohm-sub-ohm-coil-by-voopoo.html
These N1 0.13ohm coils are suitable for use between 50 -100 watts, but offer optimum performance at 70 - 80 watts.
if they are burning out around 55-60w then something is defo wrong as you are following the break in to the tee and starting low.
hopefully someone else can offer some better advice soon.

Thanks for the welcome.

The juice is Tea Lady - White Chocolate and Raspberry Cookie. It’s a 70 vg 30 pg mix. Nicotine is 3mg. The coils are from vape club. I was buying my coils from a different vendor and they were perfectly fine. I think it’s the chain vaping whilst breaking in the coils… it’s the only thing I can think of atm. Either that or my mod is on its way out idk… I’m honestly stumped lol.

I think I might try those out then because I’ve gone through a whole box of these N1’s from Vape Club and they were all duds.

Vape Club sent me a replacement box out for free of charge which is very good of them, but the first coil out of the new box has burnt out too lol.

I’ve been vaping for a few years now and I’ve never had this problem.

Could it be my mod?

Is it reading the resistance correctly? A vast difference in Ohms will mean the mod is trying to put the wrong amount of power through the coil, could be the problem.

Hi and welcome also :D

Hey man, thanks for replying.

This coil is supposed to be 0.13 but it’s reading 0.15

I’m getting some joy outta this one I’ve got in at the minute, it’s working perfectly fine. I guess quality control is an issue.

Yeah 0.02 isn't anything to be concerned about, nowhere close to the kind of difference I was thinking.

QC on stock coils was always a bit hit and miss for me, which is why I started out on RDA / RTA.

Honestly thinking about switching over to RTA myself. Seems I’d be saving a lot more money by switching over due to QC of these coils.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Really depends what you're in to, my favorite wire coil RTA is my Geekvape Zeus X, favorite mesh RTA is the Wotofo Profile Unity. My most used device lately though is my Geekvape Athena mech squonker with a Geekvape Talo X on it.

All of these are DTL attys though.
